Give him some sort of cameo so we know what happens to him in this timeline.
Could be simple as having Raiden say something in passing or have him be a non playable opponent near the end of the story mode and kill him off.

A) Lui Kang does not turn into the Fire God.

B) He is normal size and not a boss.

If they can revamp Blaze and make him like Cinder from KI, I'd be in.

In my opinion, Blaze is just another one of those flop boss karakters : basic and almost useless.

Shao Kahn, Goro, Motaro, Shang Tsung and Quan Chi are the most flawless boss karakters in Mortal Kombat, in my opinion. Sheeva is okay, also.

Everybody else is a huge flopasss mess : Blaze, Onaga, Moloch, Blolock, Flopock, etc. Those bosses look like basic fanart. In my opinion.

I am so glad that MKX will NOT have "filler", flop-kind of bosses.

Can't say i'd be excited for him as a playable character but I'd like his existence addressed in the new timeline.

He was officially killed by Kahn in the Armageddon storyline so including him would be pointless.

If you think of it, Blaze has been around since MK1. He is in everyone that has fire powers.

I'd like to think the post from DarkenedSoul in the thread "what plot twist would you like to see in MKX", become true. If Liu does become the fire god, I can see him turning into Blaze at some point in story mode and becomes the main big bad.

Blaze was officially killed in Armageddon? Well, by that logic, we also saw the dismembered corpses of Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Sonya, etc. I guess we'll never be hearing from them again.

More seriously, I'm of the mind that even if Blaze isn't around as a playable character, that aspect of the story still needs to be addressed in some fashion or another. Both him and Onaga were part of plots in motion long before the events of MK1 happened, with potential consequences too big to ignore. So if there isn't at least some small reference to Raiden or someone else dealing with those problems then I, for one, wouldn't be as happy with the story as I otherwise might have been.

I hope he is mentioned, but him being playable would be pretty disappointing to me to be honest. Unless they made an awesome revamp.

It depends. I honestly don't want to head down the MKA road again so im leaning towards no, but like others have said I think he and his story needs to be addressed in the new timeline, maybe have him killed off in a cut scene.

On the other hand he COULD be pretty cool IF NRS completely revamps him. I also would not like him to be the boss, but a regular playable character, but NRS would have to go above and beyond for me to like Blaze again. He needs a new look and some more creative moves, they can remain fire based but they need to be improved a lot.

Blaze should be in. He should look like he did in MK:DA concept found in the krypt.

I'm iffy about Blaze making a return, seeing as how he has ties to numerous plots. If they do bring him back as a serious combatant, then I hope it's without retcons.

Other than that though, I'm all for a story mode cameo. If nothing else, then to at least propel the idea that DA/Deception are actually going to happen.

Is it possible to kill an over grown flame in MK?

The issue isn't whether or not he can be killed. It's that he was killed in the culmination of the original timeline. That he was killed atop the Pyramid of Argus has no bearing on if and when he should show up in the newer games because they went back and changed things.
