I loved Scorpion and Kitana in Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance. I did not care much for movado. I am a big Reptile fan, but did not like the way he was in Deadly alliance

I actually enjoyed Maleena and Jade alot in Mortal Dombat Deception. Normaly don't play them. Also Liked Sub-Zero and Shujinko alot in Deception. I did not care much Kira.

I don't know if you'd count Sareena....since, even though Armageddon was sort of her official debut, her first appearance was in Mythologies....but if you are, she was easily my favorite.

Frost wasn't bad either, but she would obviously need a different outfit to at least set her a little more apart from Sub-Zero. I like her look though, and her specials and weapons were nice in MK:DA.

The worst of the bunch IMO were:

Bo' Rai Cho - Way too comedic for my liking.
Hsu Hao - Nothing really interesting at all about him, except his Fatality.
Mokap - For obvious reasons...
Kobra - I get that they were trying to make a SF type character, but he lacked anything interesting about him.
Taven - Just boring and I really had no care for them whatsoever.
Daegon - Same

I can't help but look at this list and shake my head. Wow, what a mediocre group of characters. If anyone outside the top five or six never came back to this series at any point in time, I wouldn't mind it one bit.

I included Sareena, Daegon and Taven because, well, you said "through MKA" and those were characters introduced in that game as playable characters.

Still, I'm almost amazed at how some of this list played out. I hated the fact that Kira had no original moves, yet I still couldn't justify putting her lower than 8th!? Kobra was one step above being a joke character and he's 7th!? If those two alone don't tell me that the last 3 games had some issues with created good and memorable characters...

I will say this though... The top six characters on this list? I like them alot and hope to see them again. I'd take those six over any characters in MK3 (minus Kabal), any characters in MK4 (minus Quan Chi) and I'd probably take them over Liu Kang, Johnny Cage, Robo Jax, Milleena and Baraka.

So to me, that's pretty high praise for that group. I think that many of the characters outside the top six have potential, but they'd have to be reworked significantly.

Liked:

Kenshi- Liked his back story of the arrogant swordsman who was humbled by an encounter with evil.
Bo Rai Cho- I don't care what you guys think, I think giving Liu Kang a yoda filled out the plot quite a bit.
Drahmin- great design...one of their best since MK2. Always wanted a character with sort of a South American influenced mask.
Hotaru- Same as Drahmin. Always wanted a Samurai.
Havik- Great design/ a really interesting character.
Onaga- I've always wanted a truly gigantic main boss.
Taven- I really loved that the MK team finally started exploring the Gods of other Realms.
Daegon- Same as Taven.
Blaze- Awesome to finally have the background character from MK2 as part of the story.


Dislike:

Hsu Hao- Terrible design. The M. Bison Hat makes him look like a male stripper.
Li Mei- Basically comes off as a female Liu Kang rip off...not particularly interesting. Just incredibly generic. I'm shocked anyone likes her.
Kobra- Generic/ Boring.
Kira- Generic/ Boring.
Mokap- Do I have to explain.
Darrius- One Order/Chaos character too many.


Indifferent: Everyone else.

Really? Always considered Li Mei one of the more dynamic characters.

I know the last two are a bit controversial, but you can find all my reasons in the character thread.

There were others I adored but just don't know where I'd place them in the future scheme of MK (Ashrah being the best example). I'm sure many would scoff at Shujinko, but the fact is that he's one of the most powerful and developed characters in the MK mythology. I'd hate to throw him away now. His design was really weak, but that's an easy fix.

Li Mei just doesn't bring anything unique to the table for me...she plays and looks generic. I guess it's kind of cool that they finally introduced Outworld Humans (of which we only had Reiko prior to MKDA) but I just found her kind of bland, and her corruption kind of random.

I totally do a fist pump every time I fire up Armageddon and watch Hotaru skewer her with the Naginata.

I'm actually surprised I like so many of the newer characters but I base my feelings for them on more than just the story. Gameplay plays a heavy part in how much I like a character as well as their future potential and design etc. I like the majority for varying reasons. A few I disliked considerably to start off with until I looked at them more in depth and some of the ones I like I'm indifferent about but prefer them majorly over some others.

For the most part, I like the new characters from the MKDA-MKA era. I feel that some characters (e.g. Bo' Rai Cho) are greatly underrated.

Kenshi and Bo' Rai Cho were the best. Out of all the new additions, Kenshi is really the only one who kinda fits with the original characters.

Mavado could've been cooler if he had a better storyline than that Red Dragon garbage.
