I actually made this same complaint in another forum. "Yay he's old and mature now cuz he has a beard!" Fiction writers and designers seem to love doing this with any male over 30 like it's mandatory or something.

Nothing against beards in general, but they don't need one to prove that they're manly and older. I'm pretty sure all of them were oozing with testosterone before that. Although Scorpion always had facial hair.

So beards compared to every male in MK9 that just shaved before battle? Why didn't people complain when the males in MK9 just had the closest shave of their lives? It actually makes sense for most of them to have facial hair because they're not worried about shaving every fucking day.

I have nothing against a beard, they can be awesome. It's just that so many of the aged characters seems to have them now. And everybody seems to have dyed it black except Kung Lao who seems to be the only one not trying to look young :P

At first I thought Liu Kang would maybe look good with a beard, but now that "everybody's" got one I kinda hope he doesn't just to stand out a little. I really hope he's aged too though. Very interested as to what he'd look like 25 years later. Hopefully he's not dyed his hair too.
