People have this idea that 28 is the final roster count. Ed said similar. SIMILAR. Which means it could be more than 28 or less than 28 as well. That's why I hate all this "wasted roster space" talk.

Adam Urbano never confirmed him as a playable character. He was asked if we would see Johnny fight Cassie, and he said yes. That's not the same as saying Johnny is a playable character. But that doesn't prevent people on here to take it as a confirmation.

But people don't care about that. They just hear what they want to hear.

Danny asked "Can we fight her as Johnny Cage?" (Her being Cassie Cage) And Urbano says "Yeah you can". There's only one way to take that since:

A. They won't make Johnny a Cassie skin

B. They wouldn't make Johnny playable just for Story mode and not the rest of the game

Nobody in MKXs development team has given a number for the roster without DLC.

But of course, arguing for the sake of the arguing is an interesting hobby.

Ed has said it's comparable to what MK9 shipped with, which is more than 24. Now, that may include "Unlockables", so that would sit it at 28, then you'd have a guest or two, to bring it to 30. DLC would bring it to 34-36, so yeah, that makes sense.

I still want someone to ask specifically..."Will the game ship with more than 24 characters?", they always add the DLC in that question and it throws an immediate wrench in there.

Well, I hope for another character clash game, but I doubt it will be MKX. Maybe the next game, which per tradition would be the time to do so.

- MKvsDCU (considered to be the 8th game in the series)

I'd love another MKA as long as it played like MK9 and MKX. The tough part would be the balancing. But in any case I wouldn't expect another game like that for a long time.

Yes, it would be scary, because Armageddon showed that the MK team doesn't handle a roster of that size well.
