I notice she isn't discussed as much as the other post MK4 characters but I feel that she could play a great role if the next game is to be a re-imagining of Shinnok's invasion

All that we know of her past life is that she was a member of the Brotherhood of Shadow much like Sareena, Jataaka and Kia (possibly related?) until she was ousted and ordered to be assassinated by Quan Chi after refusing to take one of his orders. Her escape led her to the Kriss and her quest for ascension began

Now with the considerable shift in power and manpower Shinnok now has at his disposal in this new timeline, Ashrah and the Kriss' ability to purify its holder of the influence of the Netherrealm would be of great interest to Raiden...

Perhaps it was an order during the timeline of MK4 that led to her discharge and would be a great story point to elaborate on
