As annoying as Shao Kahn was to fight against....

Yeah, he's been the final boss in three out of the nine games. It was really cool seeing him fleshed out in story mode and watching his fall at the end. Time for some one new though.

Am I the only one that's sick of him? I am more than glad to have someone new finally. He was ridiculously easy to fight against in MK9.

I'vr had enough with Kahn. We need someone else for a change.

Lol no you're not, I'm over him too. I'll just miss his whole demeanor. I grew up with him being the ultimate baddie so he's like part of my childhood finally making an exit. I can't wait to see the person that ends up taking his place after everything is said and done during story mode for the new game though. Super excited to find out who comes out on top

Shao Kahn has always been awesome... right up until MKvsDCU. His appearance in that and MK9 were just atrocious. It's about time to switch him out permanently, like they did with Street Fighter's M. Bison (or Master Vega, to you Japanesers out there).

Same here! I'm looking forward to story mode more than anything else in MKX. It makes sense that the main villain early on will be Shinnok, but at some point in the story Kotal Kahn will take over and become emperor of Outworld. Ed Boon said that it will show his rise and fall and that the real end boss is a surprise! I cannot wait to see how this all unfolds, it's going to be glorious to behold!

Another favourite character of mine, but the whole Shadaloo taking over the world through terrorism had run its course, just like Shao Kahn's whole obsession with Earthrealm.
I'm not a fan of Gill or Seth though, as I'm no fan of Shinnok or Onaga, but hopefully the new MK boss will be extraordinary. ^^

My Shao Kahn theory - Having Skarlet spy on Quan Chi Shao Kahn learns of his evil plan. shao Kahn then forces his General Reiko to fight Raiden in his place while recovering from his wounds.
While lurking in the shadows in his weakened state Sektors clan captures him and transforms him into Cyber Kahn .
Unlocked after beating Story Mode.

I'm totally okay with Shao Kahn not returning for a while. I just hope the new boss is challenging and someone really, truly unexpected. I'm quite eager to learn who they are.
I just hope they aren't another large, lurking type. If they're pressed on heading into a new direction, hopefully they'll change this boss style. I'd like a normal-sized character like Shang Tsung, Quan Chi, or Shinnok, but with something (or things) that differentiates them from their playable counterpart. That's why I loved fighting Shang on Very Hard in MK9. He felt like the true boss of the game.

I'm tired of him as a boss. I wouldn't mind in the future if he returned and started becoming a playable normal character like in Deception. But I'm in no hurry to see him.

Not possible. He is not a fun character, nor would he be a "surprise" boss.

Glad you think so, lol. The only way you can beat him, is to spam him. He's the most annoying boss EVER
*Keep him as far away from MKX as possible!*

Really? All you had to do was cross-jump-punch him into a full combo while he was about to perform a (slow as hell) move. The only one that was slightly more annoying to me was Shang Tsung. And Mileena in the final Challenge Tower Mission. The Shokans and Kahn were piece of cake. Mileena...omg if there was one time I hated her, it was that!

Not possible. Every damn time I jump he always hits me with his rising knee or whatever it's called. Also I jump towards him to go for a combo and he gives me the hammer and so forth. He doesn't have any slow moves.
For me Shang is easier than Shao.
I don't have any kind of feelings towards this character now that he's no longer considered the main villain (at least for right now, who knows down the line). I'm really hoping that they can finally stray away from this character to be a villain and focus on someone new, or recurring enemy that could be a major threat.
You see, I've always kind of liked Shao Kahn back in the past, but since 2011, I've been finding myself more and more disliking the character. Why? At first I felt that the writers can't figure out how to make a new villain, that Kahn has to be THE villain for the series. They made my favorite villain, Shang Tsung, into a laughing stock since Quan Chi came into the picture, they made Quan Chi an annoying little runt who really needs to meet his demise in this game, Shinnok was hardly any kind of significant threat when he debuted, Onaga is also in the same boat with him... I feel like when it comes to making any other villain, if it's not Kahn, it's not going to be good.
Which is why I'm skeptical about Kotal Kahn. If they say "Kahn" is just a title, I feel like... and this is just me talking, that it's Shao Kahn all over again just in a new character. Does it really need to be where anyone who is the emperor of Outworld need the title "Kahn" at the end of their name? So... if Mileena would suddenly be empress, would she be considered Mileena Kahn?
Seems like a fucked up system but hey, it's their story.
I'm just really hoping that they stray far, far away from Shao Kahn for a long time and start something new here.
