Having been playing Shadow the Hedgehog, which you can choose if Shadow is good, neutral or evil, I decided that a similar game might not be a bad idea for Scorpion, if you go good, you're helped by an Earthrealm Warrior in the level (Liu Kang, Kung Lao etc.) if evil, then you're helped by an evil guy (Baraka, Reptile etc.)
Here are some level ideas
Edenia:
Hero Path: Rescue Kitana! (with Liu Kang)
Neutral Path: Reach the portal
Dark Path: Kill 45 Edenian soliders (With Mileena)
Earthrealm:
Hero Path: Destory 50 Tarkatas (with Sub-Zero)
Neutral Path: Reach the portal
Dark Path: Set off explosives to bring about the weakening of Earthrealm's defenses (with Baraka)
Outworld:
Hero Path: Defeat 50 Outworld soliders (with Kitana)
Neutral Path: Reach the portal
Dark Path: Drive off the Edenian Soliders (with Reptile)
I can think of the story later on, but I think it would be an interesting concept for a Scorpion game.

You're concept not only is good, but this also allows the game to be lenghty, as there are three different realms (edinia, Earthrealm, and outworld) and also three different postions Scorpion may take in each ream (dark, neurtal, and good.)
Great fresh idea overall..

I was actually very happy with the newest attempt to make an adventure game. MKSM is a fun game to play, the only problem I have with the game is the disgusting violated putrefied and corny storyline, they developed it so bad.
But the gameplay was great, I had a lot of fun.
As for this idea, its a great concept, I really like it, its interesting...but I hope the next adventure game is not about Scorpion. I believe its time to give a chance to other characters.

Yeah, I kind of agree with queve although I do like your ideas.
I think the next action adventure game should be based on Shang Tsung and his history with Shao Kahn and the Mortal Kombat tournament.
I thought of a cool concept of having to kill your enemies so that you can obtain souls to live. As Shang Tsung you would be a desperate character always seeking youth, I thought of one main weapon for Shang Tsung, manipulation.
Following the Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic formula, I had thought about adding dialouge for the player to choose. As you drain souls you gain experience just like in Shaolin Monks, but as Shang Tsung you get more experience if you trick people into doing what you want.
Also, imagine being able to morph into any character that you come across?
I say that there is a great amount of potential involved in making a Shang Tsung based adventure game.

That's a really good idea ^^
So is the scorpion one..For the scorpion one I think it would be cool if the story started off as when Scorpion was a human and follow his path from that to when he becomes a spectre and then beyond..possibly up to the events of MKDA or MKD.
For a Scorpion game I would want to focus on what his life was like before his death by Sub-Zero and his involvement in the Mortal Kombat tournament.
Scorpion is a ninja, so I think it would be really neat to follow his steps as a ninja in his clan.
The game should answer these following questions
How did Scorpion attain the alias of Scorpion?
What made Scorpion decide to mock the Lin Kuei by wearing yellow?
Who was Scorpion's family?
Why does Scorpion's clan hate the Lin Kuei?
Was Sub-Zero a personal enemy to Scorpion before their encounter that led to Scorpion's death?
During Scorpion's life as a mortal I would expect to see the following questions be answered as I progress through the game.
The halfway point of the game would have Scorpion die at the hands of Sub-Zero. At this point, the story should have the player feel sympathy for Scorpion, have Scorpion as a mortal beg for his life in front of Sub-Zero and have him confess that he has a family he wants to see. Sub-Zero would be the ultimate bad guy in this game and you would see Scorpion's life be crushed out of him.
Scorpion's adventure would have him dwell in the Netherealm. A tortured soul. This game would show just how the Netherealm affects physical forms and shows how things are done down there. Scorpion's quest would lead him on a path of revenge. You would understand why Scorpion cannot give up due to what he left behind.
In the game you would see Scorpion sell his soul to become Scorpion the undead ninja spector but in order to have a chance on going back to Earthrealm you would have to do tasks in the Netherealm while simultaneously obtaining Scorpion's hellish moves to give him an edge.
The portion of the game would be the Mortal Kombat tournament. We would see just how Shang Tsung operated the tournament and this portion of the game would be stealth. In order to defeat Sub-Zero you would have to become a spector, and observe all of his moves and study how he fights. This game would be really cool because you can choose when you want to end it by presenting yourself to Sub-Zero. The game would have you first deal with Shang Tsung's guards after Liu Kang defeats Goro in Mortal Kombat, and then the final and epic showdown would happen.
That's what I would like to see if they made an action/adventure game for Scorpion.

I like that idea cuz he is neutral so he can be dark or a hero, he would of been good but after is death will things got out of hand, but theres is one idea i dont like and that is the Neutral Path: Reach the portal thing, they are in all of them man put something else in beside reaching the portal on the neutral path thing put like he has to help Reptile but then goes over to Sub-Zero and tell what Reptile is doning and go back and tell Reptile the Sub-Zero is near.

Also a Netherrealm level idea
Hero Path: Slay 40 demons (with Ashrah)
Neutral Path: Well, not really else to think of
Dark Path: Find and defeat Ashrah (with Noob Saibot)

shuper shweet ideas.
have him run around all the realms doing stuff, (NO FUCKING LOADING SCREENS!!!!)
i like the idea with the halfway point dieing, but let it go beyond the tournament. have where you get to beat quan chi's ass in the netherrealm and get thrown in the soulnado and finally defeat onaga.
