That's a good point. Although the time delay for the DLC releases will be much shorter than the KE release, so it's not exactly a 1:1 comparison. It is a mostly fair way to look at it for those who have philosophical gripes about DLC, though.

Another thing about the DLC is that the guests are completely optional now. No Kratos on disc. No surprise Freddy when you've already bought the package. That right there should cut down on a lot of the complaints already. In theory....

I will get MKX for PS3 when it comes out in June. I'm probably not going to be able to afford a PS4 until late this year or early next year, anyway. I'll just hold of on getting DLC as badly as I want to play as Jason. That way next year when I have a PS4, I will get the Komplete Edition for it. And it will be totally worth it between the upgraded graphics and all the extra kontent such as characters, skins etc.

Really yet another thread about this? actually only reason people complaints is cus they want theyr favorite chars to be included . and just cus you are happy with how the roster looks doesnt mean that everyone is ,or that they should wait until the "komplete" edition is out . thats just silly of you to say . people will always complain about something . try to understand that . . just cus you got your "favorite characters" in the game doesnt mean everyone did . and people will complain cus they cant make everyone happy .its how it is.

Like I've said from the very beginning, I will enjoy this game regardless of who's in it. I think the main thing that's disappointing is the lack of characters who should have been obvious from the get go.

Nah, this post was about people objecting to DLC characters in general, who ask why DLC characters couldn't have just been in the main game. Post had nothing to do with who was in it, who should be, or anything of the sort. You misread, mate.

I think this works for a lot of things in general, lol.

from where do you see all this complaints then ? . also why make a thread about it ? what does it matter to you if they want it on the disc or not ?.let people want what they want . no reason to start a big thread about it .

I think the main complaint is just the price. It's half the price of the game for four characters.

I think DLC can easily become a shady, unethical practise, but in this case NRS is clearly working their asess off on new characters after the game was finished. For people who don't want to buy the DLC there's always the komplete edition, which is pretty much the delayed version they would have released if they wanted to include the new characters in the main roster.

that's pretty much what I did for Injustice...I got the Collector's Edition then waited for the Ultimate Edition...on vita and got the PS4 version once the price dropped. If only they added Power Girl

Some developers have used DLC as a way to scam and exploit their consumers. This has lead to people believing the practice itself is a way to rip people off, much like early access games or insurance.

Honestly, I don't think any MK fan who purchased MK3, UMK3, AND MKTrilogy should complain about DLC or Komplete Editions.

I think the complaints about the lack of Fujin and Reiko come from what we expected the story to be instead of what NRS wanted it to be. With the way MK9 ended, we expected MKX to be more about the Netherrealm War more than the new generation of fighter.

And really, this is Mortal Kombat. Except for the big names, the rest of the roster always gets shuffled around with new guys and a few returning ones. It's not Street Fighter or Tekken that constantly releases the exact same roster in the exact same attire since the early 90's. You guys should expect it at this point.

I actually appreciate that we KNOW what we are buying, no mystery bullshit etc.

The only thing I dont like is that it doesn't seem to be great value for money (if the skins are free compatibility patch things again)

Pretty sure Vs MK9 season pass its nigh off double the price. £25 vs £12-13. Just seems a bit expensive for essentially the same amount of content. If it was 6 characters, say, I'd be a bit happier.
