Ed Boon said there would be roughly 24 characters. 10 (not including Goro) have been revealed. That leaves a good 14 characters left to be revealed now that Kung Lao has been shown (and we haven't even seen his gameplay trailer) so I am wondering:

a) Are we going to see 2-3 character reveals a month up until release?

b) Are they just going to reveal a few more characters and we are just going to be surprised on the release date?

I am starting to doubt we'll know the full roster prior to release. So I guess B probably.

I'd actually prefer B. You can't even watch trailers these days without getting spoiled on fucking everything. I like being surprised.

I just hope there won't be a leak of EVERYTHING like there was for MK9. Nothing like feeling the hype deflate like a balloon, cartoon farting noises and all.

Do we think there will be a demo?

Probably B. Characters like Sheeva, Quan Chi and Cyber Sub-Zero weren't supposed to have been revealed before MK9's release, but after the demo was data mined and everything leaked, their plans went down the drain.

Since both MK9 and Injustice had demos, I'd say there's an excellent chance for one.

I think " B " and no Demo. I personaly think we are going to get 5/6 more characters including a Goro trailer and I am more than happy with that. That's a lot more then the last 2 months.

I am just hoping for Tanya and Tremor.

Ed Boon never said it would be about 24 characters. On the contrary, he said that we would have at least the same number as the MK9. At 28 playable characters at the beginning (not counting DLCs and Bosses).

I want to see everything. I want to see every little bit that I'm paying for.

I want the ENTIRE roster known.

I'll guesstimate that there will be about 7-8 (no less than 5) characters they don't even mention until release. At least considering the pace we're nonchalantly walking at.

10 if you want to include the unlockables/hiddens.

B.

Which I'm fine with. I can see us getting a character from here for every month until April. I personally like some surprises.

I'm hoping for B myself. Some of those characters maybe revealed through the comics and some through Netherrealm themselves and maybe a one or two more through magazines. I'm really thinking Goro and Kung Lao's trailers will be shown at the same time since they kinda have a history together.

I just hope there isn't a story leak and Netherrealm seems to be doing everything they can to prevent one.

Unfortunately, I am the same way. I can't stand secrets. I always end up spoiling myself. A big James Bond fan also and just finished the Spectre script the other day. If it leaks, I'm all over it. Sometimes I hate it. But some things can't be helped.

Yeah, I can get that. I like finding things for myself, though. You can never go wrong with a nice surprise.

Ask me this circa 2004/2005 and I would've said "No! Keep as much quiet and secret as possible!", but now, Idk, I'm just over that. Sure, secrets are nostalgic and I'd love to go back to that time when you'd start up a game and be amazed that "so and so" was in it or you see a cool new character you never saw before- but I just really want to know who's in the main core roster. I need to know. Because right now, things feel really lopsided. We have 7 returning characters (and more on the way if the Kenshi/Cage/Sonya/Liu rumors prove true, which I'm sure they will) yet we only know of 4 new characters...and they were all introduced back in E3, weird for a game that's supposed to have a large number of newbies debuting.

I at least want a good number of the newbies to be revealed full throttle as we enter these final months just so fans and the public can start getting a feel for them before they pick up the game, hell, DVora, Kotal, Cassie, and Ferra/Torr already feel like "old friends", so it would be nice if the rest of the new characters got the same treatment.

I'm still holding out for a few more faves like Reptile/Ermac/Mileena/Kitana with a dose of 3D era characters thrown in like Tanya, Bo'Rai Cho', and maybe Havik. Just a few more "colorful" and unique choices to pepper the returning side of things.

I am personally hoping for B. They are definitely taking a very different approach to marketing this game than they did for MK9. But the thing with mk9 was that there wasn't much of anything "new"...it was a retelling of Mk1-3, so the only novelty was how they redesigned the levels and stuff, with the exception of a few new levels though.

this game is very different. the tone is much darker, which gives the game a "dark beauty". I remember ed mentioning several years ago, around the time that Gears of War was making headlines, that he mentioned how he really admired the dark beauty of the art of Gears of War. He wanted to apply that same graphics to MK. It seems that they finally achieved that with this game. Just look at how the fighters look compared to mk9, and not to mention the fatalities, and you'll be amazed as to how they are different.

so, considering how much novelty there is to this game, it is understandable that ed boon and co. want to just talk about what to expect of the game, and let us just divulge on the surprising and juicy details once the game releases.

I am hoping, however, that we do get a few more character trailers, and perhaps a game trailer where they show glimpses of a little of everything else, just to give us the biggest tease. and let's not forget about the other "shoes" that are still pending, which, now that i think about it, are most likely the only other characters that he will be announcing, since they are going to be "walking all over us"...makes sense to me

Should be Scenario A. I cannot realistically entertain Scenario B.

A fighting game release with around half of its roster being unknown (assuming just 24 characters and only one character/month until April).....has never happened, as far as I know.

I do not think NRS are going to leave a two month gap like with Quan Chi then revealing Kung Lao again. I think from now that marketing will step it up as we get closer to launch to build excitement for the game. Saying that, I do not think we will see the entire roster unless it is leaked. I am pretty sure NRS will try their hardest not to let that happen again.

Looking at the reveals, so far they have all been returning characters. I think that will continue although I am hoping they do reveal a new character before lanuch. We still have the comic series to think about so that will be another thing to look forward to.

After what happened with the last game having everything leaked and spoiled, I'd prefer B but I don't think that's likely to happen.

If a demo is made, they better not make the same mistake they did with MK9.

At this rate, i'm picking B.

They would have to release a character everyweek until April otherwise
