They could give something like that to Drahmin.

I agree, but he doesn't need that staff. He's a Necromancer. Have him summoning them or make them erupt from the opponents body. That would be much better imo.
Again, I think this special Staff could do wonders as a Fatality. I agree with Razor that it has potential.
Maybe he can summon it for a special move just like Sub-Zero creates an Ice-Sword, etc.
I wonder whatever happened to that cute Owl of Death that dropped Moloch's iron ball and made him appear from underground.
That Owl was epic.
Regarding Sareena, Razor really nails it:

Personally, I'd rather they completely revamp her moveset to give her moves where she briefly transforms her arms and legs into clawed demon limbs to slash at people or something like that, and only keep the Five Star Kick. That would give her moveset more personality.
But if they have to give her a projectile or weapon, the Kamas from Mythologies are the best choice.

I never played Prototype, didn't that guy have powers that were basically like a Venom symbiote?
Anyway, I'm just thinking, Sareena's only real power, storyline-wise, is the ability to change from her true demon form to the disguise of a beautiful human woman, which she loses control of in the heat of battle, so it'd be cool to see her moves actually show that.
No one else in the franchise can really do anything like that, I think it would have the potential to be very unique and cement her as a character if they went that direction, since the biggest hurdle every new character has to deal with is their moves being boring or a copy of someone else's.

Except Drahmin's flies are terrible because they stay with him the whole fight and buzz annoyingly and his projectile where he throws a ball of them is ridiculous like bad comedy. There's no threat, nothing scary, about Drahmin's flies.
Locusts are scary because they are fucking gigantic and genuinely dangerous creatures. Houseflies are just a nuisance and honestly, I think the flies ruined Drahmin as a character. I think people might be inclined to like him if he was solely a badass mummy-demon instead of this silly Meat-like guy surrounded by flies with no good moves. If he ever comes back, he needs to come back withOUT them and focus on being a scary demon, and regain that warlord intelligence from his past life.
Anyway, the reason I like the staff for Quan Chi is I like the part of his character that all his knowledge of sorcery comes from old tomes and artifacts and shit he's dug up from the Netherealm. It's a world full of discarded, dangerous things that the living or the gods wanted hidden away, and he just spends all his time scavenging these things and growing stronger from it, unlike Shang Tsung or Shao Kahn, who seem to get by just on knowing spells. So giving Quan more creepy artifacts from Hell to go with Shinnok's Amulet just appeals to me.

I've always liked Quan Chi's staff.
Random thought, I was thinking the staff's head could be Lucifer. It's part of the canon that Shinnok defeated him to take over the Netherrealm, it would be a humiliating fate to end up being a weapon of a servant to the former elder god that took his realm.
And I agree with the demon side coming out in Sareena's moves.
Made this Sareena thread with quite a few user's opinions.

No, it doesn't "need" to be anywhere but the dumpster. They scrapped the weapon idea for a reason.

We also should take into account it would most likely have other abilities besides vomiting locusts.
It was only a concept. I'm sure if it was actually implemented it would have an array of cool features. Considering we have not seen a fighter who's move set revolves around a staff weapon (excluding MKDA-A weapon system, since thats gone). Could be a cool dynamic.

Y'know, that reminds me. One of my dreads/disappointments with the current game is that they don't seem to have remembered to give Raiden his lightning staff, at LEAST in a Fatality or to hold when he walks around in cutscenes. I hate when they forget the little character stuff like that.

I just hate it when people say "we need" and then something that is completely useless and definately not something that is needed.
We need to breath, we need to eat, we need to drink, we need to sleep... Those are things we NEED. A staff with a head that spits locusts isn't exactly what I would classify as a need.

I dunno,I really liked her MKA knives and the fact she could throw them so ludicrously fast that she could actually juggle with them. Shit was insane.

A fucking mummified hellspawn nightmare fuel demon head on a stick that vomits swarms of locusts everywhere,Candyman-style?
How is that anything but fucking awesome?

It just seems like something a 12 year old would think is awesome...
I don't find it all that exciting, really... I've seen things alot more awesome than a head on a stick.

I think it would be cool if he used that to summon up his skeleton minions as special moves (MK:A intro) and when he blocks it'll spit out his wall of skulls. (MD:D intro) Like there could be a green beam type energy that comes out of the mouth and from that beam are his skeletons which have a green aura around them. That'd be pretty cool IMO.
I remember seeing this in Gi and being like "holy crap that is fucked up but still awesome." I was really hoping for it, and I thought for sure each character would have a legendary weapon to unlock from the Krypt, such as the living weapon for Quan Chi, and a glowing red katana for Kenshi.
However, it was all bull shit and I was dissapointed.
The moral of the story is put that fucking weapon in.
