No. We will never see anything beyond MK3 again. MAYBE Quan Chi...but that's it.

We have seen ingame cameos of Li Mei, Kira and Kenshi, so we have seen post MK3 stuff ingame.

Let me explain something about the One Being.

The MK universe is literally made out of his body and his dreams. It can only exist while he is asleep/dead.

If he comes back, it will instantly unmake everyone else.

Therefore, he can never be a character.

He can sort of possess other characters, and very subtly influence their actions, i.e. he gave Shao Kahn the idea to merge all the realms and rule them, and he gave Onaga the idea to collect and merge all the Kamidogus, because both plans would have resulted in him being resurrected if they fully succeeded. But that is the most he can ever be in the series.

Also XiahouDun84 I don't know where you are getting this idea you have seen some of the vets say that they hated the later installments of MK sure; but that in no way means the MK team is going to eviscerate the post MK3 storylines seeing how this game is going to follow up with Armageddon this already puts that theory to the garbage.
This game is a very nice nod and hug to the MK fans but do not be so close minded to think that the later games after this will not pick up the later stories of MK. Or that they will play slave to our wishes and demands from here on out.

Onaga had a projection of his conciesness aka "Damashi" form beyond the cold sleep of death. Its very much possible for this aswell.

I would advise against it tho, bringing him around instantly points to a MKA remake. hahaha

For me, its not post MK3 its post MKD

The more the One Being starts doing stuff, the more awake that means he is. If he starts influencing people blatantly instead of subconsciously, or he takes a physical form, it means he's now having a "lucid dream".

And a lucid dreamer, someone who knows they're in a dream, can do whatever the fuck he wants. He can rewrite reality on a whim. Or why bother? He could just make himself wake up. Poof, no more MK universe.

How do you fight that? You can't. You're already dead.
