I think Freddy's sound effects are absolutely awesome. His blades, and even the sound when he summons the furnace...just great.

The sound effects are acceptable. I for one, love it when Baraka performs his first round: close win. The sound of the blade scratching the floor is music to my ear holes.

Jax has some of the most brutal sound effects associated with his move set.

Gotcha Grab and Dash Punch= Brutal.

They really nailed it with the sound effects. The one mentioned Baraka's blade scraping the floor, I LOVE it! Also honorable mentions

-Kung Lao's hat spinning before and during the fatality while on the ground

-Liu Kang's dragon roar

-the body parts hitting the floor gushing sound after Cyrax' second fatality

-Freddy's furnace coming up from hell

-Freddy's claw sounds

-the drowning effect during Rain's fatality

-Kitana's fans

-Liu's bike kick

-Lao's hat throw effect

-Reptile acid spit

-all the x-ray bone crunch sounds

-Jade's pole hitting the enemy during combos

-Sindel's ear popping fatality scream


....and alot of others I didn't mention.

However there is one thing that upsets me, the beating of the ripped out heart sound effect was not in neither of Kano's fatalities! Truly would have made it better.

Skarlet Dropping down the pit in Tag Kombat is just marvelous.

The sound effects in this game are incredible. I love them!

I am definitely very happy and very aware of how awesome the effects are. You guys remember everyone's reaction when we discovered the "special metallic sounds" that are present when you fight the cyborgs?

Little details like that make this game even more juicy and meaty.

The only thing I don't like though is that sometimes you can barely hear them.

The sounds of blood gushing, meat getting grinded is like music to my ears in this game

I also like the screams in the game

like Quan Chi's screams when he's on fire (Same with Sindel, Sub-Zero and Scorpion in that situation)

Mileena's long, blood curdling scream when you do Skarlet's second fatality on her (Same with Nightwolf in that situation)

Noob Saibot's scream when he gets pulled into Kung Lao's hat in his second fatality (You hear it at the very end of the very first trailer)

Rain's scream when Sub-Zero pulls his spine out.

Nightwolf and Sub-Zero's screams when Raiden does his Shock move on them.

A negative opinion is still an opinion; if the thread was simply gushing over how amazing people thought the sound effects were it probably wouldn't be very interesting.

Though, he didn't really give his opinion, he just stated that he just doesn't give 2 shits and a fuck about the sound effects.

And that's fine.

I enjoy a lot of the sound effects, especially the *clunking* when you hit cyborgs, as queve mentioned.

I have to say though, while some are good, most of the screams from the victims of fatalities are pretty weak. They usually only sound mildly discomforted. And I REALLY wish they screamed when they rose up during the Stage Fatality on Hell.



I found Liu Kang's bike kick to be very disappointing to the ears... He hardly makes a peep. I was really hoping for the long string of jibberish he yelled out while he did it in MK2. One of the most memorable sounds from MK to me, lol (next to Raiden's "goody-goody-gah" torpedo).

omg....thank u!!... exactly what i was saying...and I get scolded for not "Contributing" but in the other thread that was closed myself and WhereThereIsSmoke got skulled., when TheNinjasRock was the FIRST person to put something that didn't "Contribute" and he wasn't told anything.... I guess it's about Favoritisms... ha....but anyways by the picture i was simply implying I don't see what the big deal is over the sound effects..... what do you expect it to sound like when you hit a cyborg? Metal...whatever that's fine.... and I don't think people need to go around Hi-fiving each other all the time... now don't get me wrong... While I am with you on this, I think it's the fact that you only posted a lolcat picture to convey your opinion instead of an actual post with words.

I agree that they did a great job with the metallic sounds (Baraka, Jade, Kano, Skarlet, Kenshi, *shudder* Freddy).

I am also a huge fan of the sounds of Reptile's Force Ball(s).
I think it's really cool that they both sound different.

It definately makes for one of the more satisfying round win's.
I'm not great as Ermac but I keep going back to him because I love what they did with him in this game. That sound is pure awesome.

I also love the strange whoosing sound whenever Jade uses her staff. It's most noticable during her win pose when she spins on it.
And the crack you hear when Skarlet rips the blade out during her throw, brutal!

Seriously tooo many to remember.
