Russian Website Releases Sindel Screenshots!

MKs Original Scream Queen is Back -- and Royally Kicking Butt!

It was another scoop from our friends in Russia, this time a collection of screenshots previously exclusive to print domains. 1C.ru have six previously embargoed in-game screen grabs showcasing the lush background environments from the new game, as well as some of it's classic characters in not-yet seen classic poses!

These screenshots mark the first widely available viewing of Queen Sindel -- the Edenian royal who became Shao Kahn's bride and took her own life. Given the new games retro setting, we can be sure Sindel will be right in the heart of the action as the game revisits storylines leading up to and including Mortal Kombat 3!

Sindel's Banshee Scream is on display in the shots, along with classic special moves belonging to Sonya, Jax, Scorpion, and perhaps Ermac -- who is another of the returning characters yet to be showcased extensively.

Mortal Kombat is the new game from NetherRealm Studios, to be released April 19 in the US for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in standard and kollectors editions. For International release information, follow this story.

.....seriously. And there's still a ton of others featuring Sonya being promoted only in mags. I can't wait to see them HQ too.

Sooooo:

Sonya and Sindel look absolutely fantastic! I really love the detail of every single thing in their costumes. Sonya's pants and its design are freaking awesome. I love the futuristic look about them. Soooo good and a nice improvement over her (also cool) MKvsDC pants.

Sindel has either blood or make-up running down her eyes: AWESOME! The color combo in her outfit is superb and her hair looks glorious.

My only problem with her model is that all her finger nails are not long and crazy like in MK3...only just that 1 in her thumb. That's kind of a disappointment.

Ermac looks great. Period. I hope to see a better shot of him soon.

It's not, like, far fetched to talk about her fingernails considering they were a cool trait of her MK3 incarnation. It added to the overall feeling of her "crazy goth evil banshee witch queen".

Or you don't agree?

PS: Sonya's rings happily accent Sindel's balls.

But still, as far as these pictures are looking with her in it, she's wearing her same costume from MK3, without the black being in the leotard... That's basically her costume. And, as stated before, Kahn certainly loves his family looking really skimpy.

PS: Sonya's rings happily accent Sindel's balls.

They are essentially to her evil witch theme.

In the pic where she's ducking, you can clearly see that her THUMB has a long sharp nail to it while the rest of her fingers don't.

WTF?! Why not just apply that style to ALL her nails. Wierd how they only gave it to her thumb, but of well. The rest of her looks absolutely glorious, and that's what ultimately matters.

They said in the Sindel bio that the original Sindel wig was too short so they added some extensions... so... why didn't they draw longer hair =-l

I know it's a really cheesey thing to complain about but explain how a character who has a move that picks up an opponent with her hair doesn't have hair longer than her at least her waist-length.

And her make up is lacking a dark evil make up that a dark evil queen should have.

Oh well. I assumed back in June that she wouldn't even make it in, so I guess beggars shouldn't be choosers.

Probably because it's a gigantic pain in the ass to animate and it would look terrible the second she started moving.

A while ago,I brought this up,with sprite comparisons and everything to illustrate my point.

tl;dr when she performs the throw,her hair magically fucking grows three extra meters. If her hair always stayed this long,there would no possible way whatsoever to make it look good. It would drag the ground behind her.

Are you fucking kidding me? This game is a remake of MK1-3,and Sindel was what allowed MK3 to start in the first place,so she's arguably the most story-relevant character in that game. There was absolutely no way in hell that she wouldn't have made it in.

I just cant tell if I like Sindels new costume or not, every time I see it I feel different, I dont know theres just little of the mutton dressed as lamb feel about it, I personally think maybe some sheer fabric or something to go inbetween the gaps would have been better, no doubt I will look at again tomorrow and feel differently ;)On a positive note Im loving the tails Ive wanted Sindel to have those for such a long time and her overall modal is stunning
I think ultimately what it is thats bugging me about Sindels look is they were to rigid with keeping close to the origina, the only difference being the cut out segments and longer jacket, With the other characters (for the most part) ypu can see there was refrencing to the original costume s but still look fresh and brand new. I don't necessarly dislike it, but considering Sindels age and position as queen I would have liked something a little more refind, after all would you want to see your mother dressed in something like that ;)

From the LQ ones I thought Sindel looked too young but from these HQ ones she looks much more mature which is awesome!

Well, have you look at Kitana's horible MKvsDC and new hair style? I rather Sindel has this kind of length than something that might ultimately end up looking like Kitana's hair animation and model.

1) Her make up should be darker but the close up of her eyes in 2 of those shots are freaking scary!

2) Sindel was a total given. She was totally making the cut.

Guys, I was talking about when the first trailer released. We didn't know they were going to take it back to the MK3 days.

And what is everybody talking about the Banshee scream for? None of those pictures show her doing the scream

I see her projectile, but that's all. The one where she's crouching is probably her enhanced version that would hit low.

The new one for sure.

I'm a big fan of her MK3 look (loving that stylish top), but, the new one is sooo futuristic and filled with straps around her that it makes me implode of happiness.

I think the things I like much better from the classic look are:

1) Long crazy hair.
2) Long deadly fingernails.
3) Exaggerated Dark wicked makeup.

In the first magazine that revealed these pictures, the article included with them says that she uses her hair in match to destroy her opponents.

I believe that means she'll have some type of hair attack(s) in this game... and she better.

p.s. I also like how the article compares her to Bayonetta.
