WHAT...NO RAIN!?
Well that's just great! Well, it looks like Rain should be replaced with a new purple ninja in the next game and maybe someone with new water abilities.
If anyone wants to stand up against Boon, I'd say put Rain in the game. If not, what would your ideas take you with mine? I say....
Purple Ninja
- A spider with poison and web abilities. Someone like Spider-Man and Venom. Only neutral... maybe... or good.... or evil.
Suijin the water god
- The return of the Shinto water god.

Rain will probably be the first DLC...

Frist of all, I don't know why anyone thought Rain was making the main roster of this game. Look at any interview they did, and everytime they were asked about the roster and characters, they would always respond with "The game is focusing on MK1-3, so if you have a favorite character from those games, there's a pretty good chance they will make it." Last time I checked, Rain wasn't in MK1-3. He wasn't even in the arcade version of UMK3. So no, it should have never been expected for him to make the cut.
Secondly, he is more than likely a front runner for DLC. So I would save the tirades for later, and just have some patience. You can't possibly tell me that Rain makes or breaks the game for you, and that you don't enjoy any of the other 26-28 characters offered in the game.

So wasn't noob saibot. But on the other hand I can understand if he got a slot over rain because he has way more popularity then rain..

Noob Saibot debuted in Mortal Kombat 2.

There's a strong possibility that Quan Chi's in the game, despite him not appearing until MK4, so you'd think that Rain would've had a better chance being in the game over him, especially since Rain was in an updated version of UMK3 (the SNES/Genesis versions had him and Noob playable). In fact, if we do take the "only MK1-3" bit into account, Ermac shouldn't be in the roster either, since he only appeared in UMK3, not MK3. Rain should be there, just like any other character in the first batch of the original trilogy.

Yea I know so did jade&smoke but they didn't become playable until umk3(except smoke) so I don't countNoob Saibot debuted in Mortal Kombat 2.
By that logic, we shouldn't bother having Goro, Kintaro, Motaro, or Shao Kahn because none of them were playable (without cheat codes) until MKT. If they were in the first trilogy, they should all be there, regardless of if they were or weren't playable in their debut games.

I'm willing to bet money that rain will be dlc and even if he isn't they're not going to make a completely different purple ninja lol, that would be too much of a bitch slap to his fans.

Quan was straight up confirmed from the aussie ratings board.

Ahh, thought so, didn't want to say any misinformation if I was wrong.
So yeah, if Quan Chi could get a spot when he wasn't even known to exist until MK4, it makes sense to assume that someone like Rain would get a shot.

Yeah, it mentioned his leg beating fatality too. I'd say rain is most likely in. I'm sad though because my man Kabal is nowhere to be seen yet.

Quan has a much larger fan base, and is more important to the plot. He may not have debuted 'til Mythologies/MK4, but his story was interjected to date back all the way before MK1, so it makes much more sense for him to be in over Rain. Quan is intertwined with Sub's/Noob's and Scorp's history quite heavily. Making him much more important to this game, than Rain.
To the other person...
Smoke was playable in MK3, as well as fightable in MK2. Noob was also fightable in MK2, as well as MK3. Jade was fightable in MK2, as well as MK3. Smoke's story is intertwined with Sub's, Cyrax's, and Sektor's. Noob's is intertwined with Sub's and Scorp's. Jade's is intertwined with Kitana's, Mileena's, Sindel's, and Kahn's. Rain wasn't even introduced until UMK3, and had no real important influence on the story of MK1-3 time period. Thus, he's obviously the least likely of the bunch, and shouldn't have been expected.
Finally...Kabal was in the voice leaks, AND the australian fatality descriptions. He is confirmed.

Lupinko leaked that Kabal was in with his classic moves, unless you mean we literally haven't seen him.

Well there was his audio leak too... so yea im convince he's in... and we're all waiting to see Smoke.
I believe Rain will make it in DLC. Just keep the interest up for his character

Once again, when the main creator says, as it has been quoted, "The game is focusing on MK1-3, so if you have a favorite character from those games, there's a pretty good chance they will make it." and then doesn't bring a character back from that generation, it makes no sense. Popularity shouldn't even be a question considering they're bringing back Stryker who, despite having fans (which I'm one of), surely can't be more popular than Rain's, especially when they actually established that he's the son of an Elder God. Sure he doesn't shine at this point in the series, but considering he was introduced in UMK3 at the exact same time as Ermac, despite not being playable, makes no sense to me, especially since Ermac is in the game as a lowly henchman only, intertwined with none of the characters.

I'm willing to bet all of my cats(even whiskers) that Rain will be among the first DLC....and I NEVER bet whiskers.
I wish everyone would be honest, and just admit that they want the Super Roundhouse Kick back, Rain is just the guy that does it.

1st. They purposely stole Rain's signature move and gave it a REALLY LAME character Nightwolf who nobody really cares about. Assuming they probably gave it to him to make him less lame and retarded.
2nd. They said the game would consist of favorites from MK1-MK3 yet Rain is a favorite and they did not even put him in. Not to mention Crap Chi is in the game even though he sucks and was in MK4 and NOT MK3
3rd. They wasted development time on Kratos who isn't even part of the MK roster. Time that could have been spent on adding other MK characters people badly want in. LIKE RAIN!!!!
Looks like the MK team really know how to make their choices.... NOOOOT!!
Someone needs to knock some sense into them. Rain should have been in the game PERIOD. Not DLC. Especially with the circumstances above and his popularity.

He was in the "attract mode" of UMK3. Playable, fightable, or not, his appearance alone makes him part of UMK3 lore. It's the same as saying Ermac wasn't in MK1. Ermac is in MK1, even if it's a glitch and you can't face him, he's appearance still there. Same goes for Rain in UMK3, but his appearance was INTENDED.
I hope he makes it in as DLC and I'm not hurting over waiting. Even though it can be argued that he deserves to be in the roster as much as any other character that appears in UMK3.

So.... guest character fromone of the most prominent game series of the decade that is perhaps the only series that can rival MK in term so stylistic brutality, and who is easily identified by MANY new MK players and non-MK players likewise vs...
A pun character who is the most obscure of the MK nijas and had three iterations of backstory and by all means and purposes is a joke. Not to mention aside 2/3 of the MK players who know about Rain, who else can recognize him? Even if the figure it out probably they will tell you it's Scorp's metrosexual older brother.
Yes put Rain, the obscure lame-ass copypasta character to the roster instead of Kratos. LET'S GREENLIGHT THIS YOU WONDERFUL MAN! GREAT SUCCESS!
Be real here. You might like Rain, you are entitled to. But don't pretend he is more important than financial and strategic manouvres like Kratos, and probably 6/7-th of the cast.
