Please, MK, please bring back Steve Ritchie, the real voice of Shao Kahn!

From the videos we've seen so far, the announcer's vaoice is alright, but it's no Shao Kahn.

It sounds like it lacks, depth, a soul.

Replacing it with Steve Ritchie should not be a problem, and here's why:

Seeing as we're only getting returning characters for the next MK, the developers already have all of the voice over for them in their database.

That means voice over for theirs names, winning poses, fatality, babality, friendship, animality and brutality already exists!

No need to hire him again!

I hope they have some kind of an option where we could switch on "Klassic Kahn" or something.

It's not like hiring him again would actually be difficult. They got him to come back for Shaolin Monks.

I actually agree his voice was epic! but I believe they have already found a new announcer furious Grrrrrrr!!!

Kahn has to have dialogue during cutscenes too, y'know. Ripping quotes from old games can't cover for that.

Using old sound files would be a bad idea as the sound quality would suck so bad in comparison to todays technology.

The announcer sounds like he's reading a script in front of him, instead of sitting on a throne somewhere and shouting out the phrases.

FINISH HIM!!!! Or finish him....

Nooo, leave it as it is.. Steve Ritchie was great as Shao Kahn in the past and I don't mind if the classic Kahn is back for his ingame taunts and cutscenes. But I love the 2011 announcer, the way he says Finish Him and Fatality is just awesome. For me Shao Kahn does not have to be the announcer, Kahn and the announcer can be two sepparate parts of the game.

I really do agree that i like the new shao kahn voice. As much as i love the classic shao kahn "finish him" and "fatality" i actually like the new one. When he says fatality he sounds kind of crazed and quite pleased as i would imagine him actually just watched someone get brutally dismembered.

Eh, I'm fine with either voices. Really I want the announcer/Kahn to give his commentary during fights like the old days.

I am all in favour of this. This would really complete the game.

I wonder though, Sanchez is doing the voices now but does that also mean he is doing Shao Kahn's voice by default since he is "supposed" to be Kahn when saying, fatality, for example?

If his voice is supposed to be Kahn's voice, its nowhere NEAR as cool as Steve R.'s voice. Not to mention that he doesn't sound like Kahn at all.

I wouldn't mind Steve returning, but in all honesty I'm more than content with the current voice. This one doesn't sound like its "trying" too be deep and ominous. That's what MK:DA-A was basically. This voice sounds great. It sounds more human. Of course no one could truly replace Steve Ritchie, but the last time I was actually satisfied with a voice was Shaolin Monks (I know steve voiced it). I'm loving this new voice too.
