It would be fun if we use Hara Kiri in MKD. But what about Hara Kiri in Mortal Kombat 2011. You know, when it gets to "Finish him/her", One of the player who lost a round needs to commit suicide that is called "Hara Kiri".

So what did you think? Hara Kiri in Mortal Kombat 2011.

No no no this game is focusing on MK1-MK3 not MKDA-MKA. I didn't like it then won't like it now.
"would?" lol.

Enough though I liked it, let it die. Friendships, babalities, brutalitys, and so are dead, let hari-kiri's join them, and welcome X-rays to the front door.

I liked Hara Kiris. But in the end, they were just gimmicks. They take away from the classic feel of Mortal Kombat, which is what this game is a tribute to.
YES HARA KIRI IS BETTER THAN ANY ALITY THAT'S NOT FATALITY.'

it is the greatest idea in 3d mortal kombat history.

I wouldn't mind seeing hara kiris in this game. I too prefer this than friendships or babalities.

In fact this might be the only thing left to give it "shock value". At least my family found suicide unsettling in this game.

Um, bullshit they're dead, looks like someone hasn't been keeping up on interviews.

I'd like to see them back, but only if they were twice as hard to pull off as a Fatality is, so the winning fighter has the better chance to pull off the Fatality before the loser gets a chance to pull off the Hara-Kiri.

They were a good idea just horrible in execution. They became dull and repetitive very quickly. I'd prefer they weren't in.

Exactly.

Same with the implementation of fatalities, which should be set up to be done during gameplay. In previous games, (and from what I can tell, this one too) it looks so awkward when the last hit lands on your opponent and that move sends them to fall on the ground. Then the opponent gets back up ready to fight again, only for the opponent to go limp at that moment when the announcer says "finish him", because of the damage done by the last hit. Doesn't look right.

If they put finishing moves in game play it would look more fluid. I would set them up though of course, so you can only do them as your opponent's life bar is close to draining fully and in the final round. So at this point you can do special finisher animations and cut limbs and so forth.

Edit: They also need to position the camera at different places when finishing moves happen, along with mixing up the animations a bit. This way repetitiveness doesn't occur. Then just alternating between the animations randomly of said finisher. So that from match to match you get a variety, and the players won't remember the last time they saw that specific finisher animation from a character. This would make MK really robust in the presentation department.

But you got to think. Every MK had "gimmicks"

MK1- test your might
MK2- ping pong i think?
MK3-the (alities) Friend, Brut, Animal, Baby so on..
MK4- maybe the moie clips?
MKDA-the krypt
MKD-Konquest
MK:SM: multalitys and brutalities
MKA: Motor Kombat & krypt
MKvsDC: Rage
and now MK: the X-ray

They always do this because it attracts new players the mortal kombat, hints why thier gimmicks. but atleast the x-rays in this upcoming Mk wont suck compared to the corny "rage". Even saying is stupid....

looks like someone mis-read my comment lol. I meant "would" as in, they already had hari-kiri's. in MKD. and they pretty much are we havn't seen them make a comeback in about a decade. the only thing we have to long for (for now) is fatalitys and the x-ray. and why would you want it to be harder? It was the loser that had to hurry and pull off a hara-kiri before the winner could do their fatalilty, that was hard enought for people. As i said before, I liked the Hara-Kiri's, a lot actually, but I highly doubt they'll come back. Do you have a link to prove it? And i do keep up with MK, almost every few hours lol.(which is obsessive I know) and I bet you did'nt know they already showed cyrax's buzz-saw fatality on video lol. The internet is your friend. tongue

I hated Hara Kiri...... some characters were okay, but a lot of them were stupid. It sounded like another last minute feature crammed into the game and ideas were rushed and so was the execution of the ideas. This is more than apparent when you see how lame some of them are in MKD.

What is even more annoying was when you're playing online and you just want the match to be over with and get to the next fight.... some idiot just has to waste your time and force you to watch them kill their stupid character because they THOUGHT you wanted to do a fatality. No you piss ant, I just wanted to uppercut your worthless ass and get on to the next one.

IF they make Hara Kiri return, they HAVE to restrict its use. Not just anyone and anytime can do it. You should only be able to do it if you never won a round - A REAL REASON to want to kill yourself out of shame.
