Jades apperance in MK 9 ( Ideas, not info)

So shes the only edinian left, I think she should look different then she has befor, heres why. IMO

Sub- Scorp (Smoke, Ermac, Noob,Reptile, Rain)
Cyrax- Sektor (Smoke)
Millena-Kitana (Jade)

These are the only characters(not in brackets) that look similar to another character MK 9 where as in MK 3 it would be much more (the ones in brackets)

After seing sindel I was thrilled by her design. Iv never even been into the character befor. She never was a female ninja clone, but she was reminsent of one, and an edenian so she kinda fell into the catagory. But she looks very unique this time around, dosent bare much resemblence to her daughters.

So im sayin dont make Jade, another female ninja. Kitana and Millena look fine to me, simlar enought that you know they are associated with one another, but it should stop there. No third female ninja.

Im not saying abandon her character, I just would like her to look as unique as sindel, and a kitana wearing green with dark skin, and slightly different clothing.

As far as what this look is, thats up to you guys (well its up to NRS but you know what I mean)

I'd personally like to see Jade dress more Arabian-like. Wouldn't it be wonderful to see her with long curly hair, a veil, and a genie-esque outfit?

Well Jade is one of the original female ninjas so I dont think they should abandon that at all. I think they did a great job with her costumes in MKD, so something similar to those would be good. Maybe less solid cloth and more straps though, that seems to be the style with the females in this game. I said this in the other thread, Sindel needs some accessories on her costume, crown/tiara, earrings, like Kitana, Jade should also have some kind of head band or something and some earrings, to show that they are more noble than the other characters.

I like the genie idea. I liked her mk D getup to, but its almost exactlly kitanas new costume. Id be all for the pigtails as an alt for sure. People complained that it looked like chun li... which I dissagreed with.

My favorite Jade costume is her MKD alt, the one that looks like the UMK3 ninja clothes. (the pigtails were, indeed, adorable)

And even if it wasn't, I'd still want to see that in this game because this is supposed to be a retelling of MK1 thru 3.

The artists on this game...I don't understand where the hell their heads are at because so far they can't seem to make up their minds about what the fuck the concept of the game is supposed to be. Most of the designs so far have done a really great job of matching the originals but looking more modern and detailed (Johnny, Kung Lao, Raiden, Sindel's looking pretty MK3ish too from what we can see)...but every once in a while, a character pops up where they didn't seem to know what they're supposed to be doing and have gone too far into "new" territory (Kitana, Reptile, Cyrax kinda (he's so yellow he looks like the ugly movie version), The non-samurai version of Kahn)

I hope Jade falls into the "remake" category and not into the "newness" category.

I'm going to echo the sentiment on the pigtails. They look good, but more importantly, they need to keep establishing signatures for everyone. Sonya's thong, Sub-Zero's scar, Mileena's sluttiness... this is the consistency that makes a story immersive. Changing details for no reason is another way for the fiction to remind me that it's just fiction and not to bother suspending belief.

I want her to wear her MKD alt. Not only did it look best, but it suited her best. Her personality is very soldier/ninja like so its perfect for her.

I'm going to echo what everyone's been saying here and say that I also loved her MK:D alt. I see her being very internally conflicted. She's a soldier/assassin, but has an emotional bond to her best friend Kitana. That could cause problems :-p

I think her second one conveyed her seriousness but also her beauty very well. I think something like her MK:D primary should come as an alt as well! I can't and refuse to wrap my head around the Arab genie motif. She's a killer...not a harem woman. :-p

I can't take a grown female warrior sporting pigtails seriously. Does not look right in Mortal Kombat, looks too juvenile.

Alrighty WE WANT PIGTAILS. The staff is obviously a must. But yea id be fine with something like her MK D alt (MK 3 with pigtails) as long as she looks different than the twins.

Speakin of the staff how that gonna look gameplay wise. I mean everyone who whips out so far either summons it (kori blade, spirit weapons, has it holstered (jaxs gun scorps sword). Or is small enought to coneal (sais, fans).

How she gonna whip that thing out and it look belivable (could extend, I know that may be fucking with her origional design but just a thought)

Yea Her pigtails didnt give me the "Im doing sommthing imorally wrong and illegal by playing this" feel that I get from say DOA. That and shes a couple thousand years over 18.

Damn somtimes I wonder about the game devlopers on the other side of the world. (Not being racist or anything, just calling out the game designers, who cast 16 year olds in their M rated vollyball cross over game)

Chea id prefer her primary unmasked. well prolly get an unmasked alt for kitana, millena im not so sure. Id be cool if she had a really savage tarakatan based alt (this is a jade thread, i have a habit of getting off topic)

DoA or SF for exemple have more of a cartoony artstyle, so the silly hairstyles works in those games. Mortal Kombat has much more realistic looking woman.

For Jade, I think something like MKSM (if they go the ninja route) or a new take on her default MKD look works best.

They weren't pigtails in the "this is how a child wears their hair" sense, they were two buns (which looked cool because it's reminiscent of UMK3, except having 1 bun is associated with Kitana, so two makes Jade a little more unique) with braids coming down from them. It looked good.

I'd like to see free flowing hair, with a headband, a mask, hand gloves, her MK:D boots and her retro green leotard from MK2 return again. Make her more Amazonian than Kitana and Mileena, and much more exotic looking than either of the other two. I've always imagined Jade as this forbidden piece of fruit, a dangerously seductive woman who's determination and loyalty to her proffession often overshadow's her natural exotic sex appeal. Her look should represent that, and I'd actually suggest she wears slightly more clothing than what we've seen on Kitana or Mileena to acchieve that look.

Whether that entails her MK:D alternate, or a completely different spin on her MK2 Green Kitana look, I dont really mind. I personally think they hit the nail on the head with her looks and appeal in Deception, they should really stick with that formula because it works really well for her. Likewise she should have a new arena, in a Jungle or something, where the green outfit's she wears have a better chance of blending in to her environments.

Long live Jade! :D

I like her maskless appearance in Deception most. Not really a fan of the pigtails to be honest..
