When's violence okay for kids? Games rated mature for a reason.

Implying sexual situations =/= portraying actual sex acts. Many shows nowadays imply sexual situations but are never portrayed. Unless you want to see a sex show that serves its purpose.
Im strongly against any sexual acts or anything in a fighting game. like Nudalities, it just takes away from any credibility its going for. But, if in say story mode they implied a sexual relationship between characters that makes sense, or showed them together in bed but not doing anything (think the begining of Assassin's Creed 2) that would be ok. But straight up showing people going at it or having breasts or genitalia just flopping around isnt cool.

I would have preferred Nudalities to babalities. They freak me out.

Sex just doesn't make any sense in the context of video games. It's a unique medium with different rules and expectations.
Games are an interactive experience. That's why violence works so well. Because whether it's stomping on goombas, throwing fireballs, or shooting a gun, it engages the player in some sort of action. The violence is the means to an end. It's a tool to complete a goal. Push A to shoot the bad guy so you can beat the game.
Sex doesn't work that way. Outside of hentai or extraneous mini-games (which even God of War plays off for laughs), there are no real uses for it within the interactive nature of gaming. You can't use it as a tool to resolve a conflict. That's why it's so alien. Because it doesn't mesh with the nature of the genre, which is usually to accomplish a particular task.
You may as well ask why there is no sex in board games like Monopoly or Connect Four.

I don't agree with this, respectfully.
Video games are a visual entertainment medium, first and foremost, the further along they come, the more they are like interactive movies. Everyone knows that nothing in the world makes a movie sell more DVDs than a good sex scene or some pretty actress getting naked. Video games are just the same, the same things are fun and exciting to see.

Sigh* sex in MK is a huge no-no. If your turned on by a video game character well all in have to say is good day to you sir lol....
If there was sex that means it gets the rare A-Rating (adults only) and we don't want that do we because how many teens play mk? Alot..
If I want to see boobs and ass Ill just watch a Rosie O'Donald documentary on back spasms. But thats just me (I'm kidding yo)
But on a serious note NO

Except a movie is passive. You're expected to just sit there and watch. A sex scene in a video game will always be just a cut scene. A sequence that breaks apart the actual gameplay. It's not the same thing. Especially in the case of a fighting game, where story modes are always secondary to begin with.
Recent games like Final Fantasy XIII regularly get severely criticized for being "mere interactive movies" where all you do is walk through straight corridors rather than fully realized video games.
You can't put sex on the same level as violence. Violence is naturally implemented into core mechanics. Press A to shoot. Shoot the bad guy enough times and you win. It meshes with the activity. Sex can't outside of some very specific games for very specific niche interests. For the most part, sex has to be limited to passive cut scenes or moments that outright halt the player's progress like the God of War minigame. Distractions from the ultimate goal rather than directly related to the goal itself.
And anything that has to be limited to cut scene fodder is automatically going to be of lesser value in the realm of gaming. Particularly this genre where story in general takes a back seat.

I'd say the interactive movie IS the video game of the future, but I suppose we're a long way off it being any good. I wasn't saying sex would fit a fighting game, but nudity would, it's fun and titilating and that's what developers want to do.
Sex is treated badly in most films, there's nothing less sexy than your average sex scene. And in video games it's usually ridiculously childish, like the aforementioned God of War, but it can be done well, and a relevant part of the storyline, like in Heavy Rain,

Eh. What would be the point? May as well just make a movie, then. It's like saying a book needs to have more interactivity to make it more like a video game.

I'm talking WAY into the future, but I strongly beleive there will be little difference between movies and video games eventually.
For example, me and a friend were watching 'The Matrix' a few weeks ago, and at some point, my friends says 'Ugh, idiot. Why would he do that..." and went on to describe what she'd have done. It occured to me that will pretty much be video games at some point. A huge, fully realised world of story, that you can influence as you wish, making your own decisions as to how the story progresses.
Another thing to note is that sex is easily obtained in person. Whereas violence has its limitations.
Why play a game with something you can do in person?(sex)
The appeal in games is with violence. Doing a crime you couldn't do in real life without consequences. This is MK. Violence made MK popular. That's where its WOW factor came in.
Sex never existed in MK and it wouldn't make sense to have it now since MK is established.
If there is a game/series that's rated highly amongst the gaming community, that has lots of sex, nudity, and so on. That's great. More success to it.
Just keep the sex where it belongs. And it surely doesn't belong with MK.
Thread is all about childish dreams.

I just wonder if concept of sex in the MK universe is taboo or not.
For example the outfits the female fighters wear are pretty revealing. Mileena's flesh pit bandages costume leaves nothing to the imagination.
There was the challenge tower mission with Jade and the Lin Kuei warriors.
And then we have things like Kahn and Sindel. And if you think for a second that Kahn didn't outright rape her before she finally killed herself at some point, you're fucking fooling yourself.
So I don't think Sex in an MK is taboo at all.
I don't want want to see Jade pull her mask off and get down on her knees to suck off Smoke as a finisher or anything, but I don't think nudity should be out of the realm of possibility. Like if Mileena was completely naked in the flesh pits and you saw her that way, would that really be so far out of left field.
Like I said, I don't need to see characters fucking each other on screen in a fighting game, I just wish MK and the guys at Nether Realm should stop dancing around the idea of implied sexual tension and nudity.

I think what you're saying is agreeing exactly with now I feel.
Sex is something that should be treated with reserve and respect.
Nudity is fun and can always add a giggle or a raised eyebrow to a scene.
Sexuality and nudity can be seperated easily enough, and things can always be fun and kinky without being explicit and outrageous.
I don't see any reason for Mileena's naked costume not to be, literally, naked; for example.

they could add romnce in the story mode, and stuff like that.
For example, liu and kitana having a child and stuff like that, Cage and Sonya. sharing a kiss.
We dont have to have a sex mini game, but a mention that they are in love, and they do stuff yo eachother. Maybe a love sceen ala ME, in the story mode.
And going back to nudity. ill prefer sugestive outfits over nudity.
For example, French made outfts as a DLC for the gals. or sailor outfits, cheerleader for sonya.
Actualy, if i cound have a character customization like Tekken it could be cool.
but thats just me.
