Well apparently I can't be sure how much stock you put into the difference between fantasy and reality, so let's just call it a hunch.

Well, let's look at the facts. It's a tie between Jade and Sareena hands down.

Obviously, minor characters are not going to be in. It could be a Palette swap with red color for Jade. Or a less, brotherhood of the shadow attire sporting Sareena. My guess is that it's Sareena just because it seemed like Boon wanted something he created to win (Kahn), and would reward us with something awesome. So IMO, I want Sareena over Jade. SO, i'm not trying to be a pessimist on my behalf.

I was thinking the same. Either Sareena or Kira.

I'm just sayin', you can't respond to every single post with "It's Sareena" like it's been confirmed when it ain't. I really, really want Sareena to be in the game too, but repetition is obnoxious.

Plus for some reason, I actually find the idea of them creating Skarlett more likely than that Ed changed the leg from green or purple to red to fool us. I know it's the sort of thing he'd do, I just don't think that much effort was put into the tease this time.

I really don't think Skarlett is going to make it. Minor characters never make it. EDIT: minus Ermac.
Why choose her minor presence, over someone bigger to the storys role?

For the same reason they brought Ermac to life.

Ya, but why do you think all this attention is going to be focused around Ermac's story, and his side kicks?

Bringing in Sareena, means that it add's an element to what happend to a bigger character's role in MK, Subby, before becoming Noob.

Skarlett would just be lame being introduced this late.

After viewing this new image and some thinking, ive come to several conclusions.

1. it is sheeva. sheeva has a very tan skin color and she wore red in mk3. this time she will probably wear boots just as a change in her costume(a 4 armed she-goro fighting w/out any shoes?) does reptile wear shoes or foot apparel? please answer me to clear up my conclusions

2. it is sareena. mk mythologies technically covers part of mk1-3. and it also involves the original sub zero. this is an even greater
reason for the character to be sareena. she
formed a bond with the older sub who is in this
game

3. this is a dlc character. many of us are
worried that this will be a waste of character
slot. i personally think it is a waste. we should
have characters like kenshi, quan chi, ermac,
rain, and many others. remember how in mk vs
dc you could expand the roster to see
darkseid and shao kahn? this could be
possible for mk9. this can be one of those
surprises boon will have. maybe u can pull up
a dlc character select screen so the original
slots remain safe.(this is my favorite conclusion)
4. this could be an alternate costume for idk say kitana jade mileena sindel or
maybe tanya.

5. this could be skarlet the hidden and rumored character in mk2. through interviews, we have discovered that we can expect to see rumored characters. this means hornbuckle, skarlet, cyber-zero(?), zebron(?)
