Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate will be free to upgrade to next gen consoles for players who purchase on PlayStation and Xbox, but those aren't the only consoles with crossover appeal. An update by Warner Brothers' Spanish language branch has promoted cross-platform online for the four major platforms! Full story:
WB Games Latino shared a graphic with Xbox, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC represented under a slogan loosely translated to: "Kombat is now all against all". It comes with a tweet that says the console doesn't matter anymore -- cross-platform combat only in Mortal Kombat11 Ultimate.
Update (November 11th): NetherRealm Studios has clarified that Nintendo Switch and PC will not be part of a cross generation Krossplay update. Follow the link for the full story.
The implication brings PC and Nintendo Switch into the cross-play arena, which began online trials in December last year with PS4 and Xbox One. The update doesn't mention PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series specifically, but with the next gen consoles arriving in the coming week clarification is expected.
