So he's in!! Seems part of The Krypt and is DLC. He's a guide for The Krypt. Got kind of a Konquest vibe from the Krypt, but probably smaller in scope, since it appears to be on Shang Tsung Island. So many movie references.

Cool. Is he part of the story though?! Also there was a generic ninja that the player controls when exploring the Krypt which explains one of the pictures on the cards in the menus. Pretty sure it will be 24 characters with Shao Kahn making it 25. On the web-site the slightly faded icons are for DLC I think.

The Krypt trailer and him being guide is probably the hypest thing I have seen for MK in years.

Don't know. Considering he is also a DLC character, I don't think he is part of the main story, otherwise I think NRS will get some backlash about it. Well... actually, they will get backlash for it no matter what, since he's in The Krypt yet DLC to play.

Me too... although... I think the story will be great too. But I think I can be happy as a single player gamer. Enough content for me it seems :).

This game is not worth the money. Kano, Sonya, Jax, Stupid Jacqui (Now she is even worse than MKx), Johnny and Cassie. We need all that? These characters ruin the game. AND Shang as DLC? Hope you guys will love the game because I am already hating it.

Honestly I am a little sore that Shang is DLC. He is way cooler and more important than half the roster .But I won't whine.. cause I pre ordered already.

And that's exactly why they lock character behind paywalls, make them pre-order bonuses, and purposely leave them out to sell separately as DLC. Because too many people are willing to throw money at them without question.

Like the people who pre-order Kombat Packs and Battle Passes before anything is revealed about them. Can't complain about them doing it when you're one of many people encouraging and paying them to do it.

Well color me disappointing that it's old man Shang. I'm sure he has an alt where he's young but I just don't like old man Shang continually making appearances. It's his weakest iteration. Give me his MKDA look along with his MK3 one.

Shang is DLC and old man Shang is his primary/default form? Well, crap. So much for him coming back young and badass and playing a major role in the story as an anti-hero. That would have been so great.

But this new Krypt gameplay mode is a very enticing consolation prize.

I mentioned that already. I'm just disappointed that they keep going back to old Shang Tsung. I just don't like it being there at all and this time being his primary costume. It's a novelty costume at best, I'd rather they went with his more popular imposing iterations rather than the form where he was at his weakest.

Man, I just don't like old Shang.
