This really pisses me off. This is outright false and complete bullshit. It completely rewrites the history of the two most iconic characters of the franchise.

Bi Han killed Scorpion in cold blood. Bi Han was not honourable. Scorpion had every justifiable reason to kill him.

It's bad enough they ignored it in MK(2011), but them double-down on this and outright retconning it to make Bi Han seem like an innocent victim is outrageous. Before you know it, they'll make MK Legacy canon and have it so Quan Chi was the one to kill Scorpion all along.

This undermines both characters so much it's as if the devs literally hate these characters and their fans.

The only way I could see it as "unjustly murdered" is that Scorpion was going to spare him like Raiden requested until Quan Chi came along and showed him that fake vision of the Lin Kuei slaughtering the Shirai Ryu.

Exactly. Bi Han still deserved to die because he killed Scorpion in cold blood, and was far from an honourable person. He belonged in the Netherrealm!

Making him seem innocent like this would imply they're making Legacy canon - where it was Quan Chi somehow using Shang Tsung's morphing abilities to kill Scorpion. That episode is by far the biggest reason I despise that series - so for them to work it into the games is a massive insult to me as mega-fan of both Scorpion and Noob. It's a disgrace.

LOL. These bios are not always true to the character because they are written from the character's viewpoint. For example in MKX's Scorpion bio it states that Sub-Zero killed his family. We knew then that that was false and in the game he finds out Quan Chi killed his family.

As for Bi-Han deserving to die, not really. Scorpion had an agreement with Raiden and Scorpion was resurrected to avenge his family and clan. Bi-Han never killed Scorpion's family or clan. So it was pointless for Scorpion to kill Bi-Han because not only did not avenge the deaths of his family but he also threw away the chance for him to ever see them again. In a mirror into in MK11, both past and future Scorpion still regret killing Bi-Han. The fact the Bi-Han killed Scorpion is not relavent. Scorpion would have killed Bi-Han if Bi-Han never killed him first. Scorpion's mission was to avenge his family and clan's murder not his own.

Bi Han killing Scorpion in cold blood and Scorpion getting revenge on him for that is the fundamental part of these characters and their relationship.

Scorpion joined the tournament to get revenge on Bi Han for that exact reason (in MK1). It wasn't until MK4 that Quan Chi tricked Scorpion into fighting Kuai Liang over the death of his family/clan. I know this was changed in the reboot so Scorpion blamed Bi Han for the family thing, but having Bi Han still being Scorpion's murder meant that Scorpion was still justified in his actions. Removing that factor completely hurts Scorpion's character / arc far more than MKX did where he supposedly helped release Shinnok.

Bi Han wasn't exactly a nice guy - he was able to walk into the Netherrealm so easily because he was a cold-blooded killer. He even accepts this fate and seems to prefer being Noob. If this bio was from Bi Han's perspective, even he would admit Scorpion had legit reasons. And he isn't the honourable type. Scorpion is the honourable one out of the two. Dishing out divine justice to Bi Han and then vowing to protect Kuai Liang.

Scorpion and Bi Han are THE rivals of the series. And it's a personal rivalry. Implying Bi Han is innocent and that it was Quan Chi that killed Scorpion - it takes so much away from these characters and their history. It makes Quan Chi look like some god-like genius with all the powers in the universe; Noob comes off as a poor innocent victim and a fallen hero; while Scorpion is made into a lobotomised goldfish. It's spitting in the face of the characters and the fans.

The ONLY way Noob's bio makes any sense is if was written about Kuai Liang. Kronika fucks up time to the point where the brothers swtich roles akin to SZ and Smoke switching in MK(2011). But that too would be an insult to Scorpion. "Oops! Wrong Sub-Zero... Sorry!""

But it was Quan Chi who started this rivalry wasn't it? Their rivalry only became personal because of Quan Chi and without Quan Chi there would be no Scorpion seeking vengeance, it would just be Bi Han and Hanzo Hasashi and a rivalry between their clans.

The Lini Kuei and Shirai Ryu rivalry goes way back and has nothing to do with Quan Chi. Scorpion and Bi Han have been said to have been direct rivals before Scorpion died. But that first death is what really makes it personal.

Quan Chi may have hired them both to do the same mission but I wouldn't say that makes it his fault Bi Han killed Scorpion in cold blood.

I'm curious about that tidbit with Kung-Lao. It says he defeated the Deadly Alliance, so I have a ton of questions.

Is living Kung-Lao and living Liu Kang from two separate periods in time? Like is Liu Kang from a timeline where he just won the tournament and Kung-Lao is from a time where he defeated the Deadly Alliance? Or did Liu Kang never die in whatever timeline young Kung-Lao is from and it's the same one?

Scorpion has blood on his hands before he died by Bi-Han. that is the main reason he went to the Netherrealm. Well Scorpion would have killed Bi-Han at the Temple given the chance as well. Shirai Ryu Clan are assassins among other things as well. So two men with blood on their hands going to the Netherrealm shouldn't be surprising.

I think it's just a reference to Lao beating both of them in his MK9 story chapter.

No it is not and never has been. In MK1 Scorpion came back from the Netherrealm to avange his family and clan's murder NOT his own. Scorpion has never brought up his own death EVER. He only ever brings up his family's and clans. Even in MK: Mythologies, when Bi-Han meets Scorpion in the Netherrealm, after killing him in the Temple of Elements, Scorpion wants avenge his family's and clan's murder. He NEVER mentions his own. It is clear that Scorpion does not care about the fact that Bi-Han killed him, likely as I stated before because both had a fight to the death. If Bi-Han never killed Scorpion in the Temple of Elements, Scorpion would have killed Bi-Han. There is nothing uinjust about it.

Scorpion entered the first tournament to avenge his family and clan's murder not his own. He thought Bi-Han killed them so that is why he killed Bi-Han, not because Bi-Han killed Scorpion. In Scorpion's MK2 he realises that Kuai Liang is not Bi-Han so he becomes Kuai Liang's guardian to atone for killing Bi-Han. In Scorpion's MK4 ending he defeats Kuai Liang and explains his soul can finally rest after avenging his family's murder. Again, he refers to his family and clan's murder not his own. He NEVER mentions his own death at any point even in Mythologies.

Bi-Han was trained as an assassin since birth. Scorpion was not a nice guy either. He became a ninja assassin by his own volition, against his father's wishes, to provide for his wife and child. Scorpion's soul went to the Netherrealm as well not Heaven.

Bi-Han does not prefer being Noob. In Noob's Armageddon ending, Bi-Han's consciencness fights Noob for control of their soul. Futhermore in Mythologies he agrees to go into the Netherrealm to get the amulet back. If he was a cold blooded killer he would not have risked himself like that to go into the Netherrealm to fight Quan Chi and Shinnok. No, he would not admit Scorpion had legit reasons because in MK9 when Scorpion defeats him, he protests vehemently that he was not the killer of of Scorpion's family and clan but Scorpion kills him anyway.

No, it does not make any sense a Kuai Liang. It makes sense for Bi-Han. He knew if he died he would descend into the Netherrealm. He ended up being a slave to the very beings he risked his life to stop and he was murdered unjustly if you look at it through his viewpoint because he told Scorpion he never killed his family or clan. For the first time in the this timeline, Noob is free to do what he wants. His motivations are completely unknown since he has not been seen in the story mode in any capacity so far., so it remains what he is up to. These bios just give a broad outline for each character. They do not mean much at all.

Most of these bios are absolute rubbish and down right confusing to anyone who has even a basic knowledge of MK Lore.

All I can hope is that the game has more in depth bios that explain the characters back story a bit better and more accurately cause as a massive fan of the series and the lore these bios suck!

Essentially the soul had been split in two... maybe a good vs evil kinda thing. Noob is not a seperate evil entity that had taken control of Bi Han. It seems more like; this is Bi Han's evil self. The Sub-Zero soul that appeared would then be a representation of his good side. Neither side won that fight. The soul became whole again but it was still half Noob (evil). Implying that Bi Han's whole soul is half evil.

MK(2011) Cyber Sub-Zero meets Noob:
"I have no flaws! Quan Chi has perfected me!" ... "It suits my purpose!"

Raiden shows up and bollocks Sub-Zero who makes excuses "I was just earning my living!" and "Quan Chi could simply be a lunatic sorceror! I've never heard of an Elder God named Shinnok, or of a place called the Netherrealm!" Raiden tells him he's going or else. "I'll do it thunder god! Only because I don't have a choice!" He is right to protest the murder of Scorpion's family - I never claimed otherwise. But he outright admits to being Scorpion's killer in the Mythologies clip I linked above.

Also, with that same conversation - Scorpion might only indirectly blames Bi Han for his family/clans death. I mean, by killing Scorpion, it led to the death of his clan and family. So in Scorpion's mind, Bi Han is at least partly responsible, if not fully.

I've already established that Bi Han killed Scorpion, admits to it, and that's the main reason Scorpion wants revenge on Bi Han specifically. He's justified in that reasoning. But let's say Scorpion somehow mistakes Kuai Liang for Bi Han, and kills him - Kuai Liang would've died unjusutly.

Kuai Liang is known to be the honourable brother of the two. In MK2, Scorpion knew it wasn't the real Sub-Zero because Kuai Liang spared an opponent. He refused to kill someone that didn't need to die. Implying that, if Bi Han was in that situation, he'd kill without remorse. Showing Bi Han to be dishonourable.

Yet here we are with Noob's bio saying he was killed "unjustly" and that he's now free to regain his "honour".

Why even call them the Deadly Alliance? I mean, yeah, it’s a nice callback to an era they neglect, but in this timeline? It was quite literally Shao Kahn just tossing them together for one match followed by Quan Chi’s complete appropriation of Shang’s role in the original timeline.

I'm sorry but what? What the hell have they done to Noob Saibot? Unjustly killed? Come the hell on! He was framed for killing Scorpions family and clan but he still got what was coming. The man murdered Scorpion, unless they're retconning that too and trying to make the events from the web series canon? Where it wasn't Bi-Han at all and was Quan Chi entirely?

And why are they trying to spin it that Noob Saibot is out for redemption now? Remember the part where Noob Saibot was happy just being a irredeemable wraith, though are they even still saying he's that now?

Okay I think I am almost completely checked out when it comes to giving a crap about the story of MK at this point lol.

Is there even a point in being invested if they are just going to change stuff whenever it suits them?

This actually takes directly from Mortal Kombat (2011).

In the story mode, Scorpion originally vowed, upon Raiden's request, to only defeat Bi-Han in combat and not kill him. However, Quan Chi shows up and displays a false vision of Sub-Zero massacring Scorpion's family, leading to Scorpion killing Bi-Han for a crime he did not commit.

So yes, he was in fact killed unjustly.

The point still stands that Scorpion didn't just wish to avenge them, but himself as well. So there is nothing unjust about what happened to him. Then again one would be right to argue that Scorpion has nothing to complain about either seeing how one of them had to die in that conflict and both were in the business of killing so it should be expected.

Then there is the little fact that Noob Saibot, from what we have been told about him numerous times throughout the rest of the series wouldn't care about this.

He likes being an evil creature of darkness, he's an entity separate from Bi-Han, all the sin and darkness on his soul personified and allowed to flourish, so why would he care about honor or if his murder was just or unjust? It allowed him to be born.
