Searched up the meaning of Geras, he is the god of old age in Greek mythology. A fantastic addition.

Hmm, Geras said in an mirror intro that there are multiple models of him, looks like he a mechanical creation bound to Kronika. In another intro he stated that if he were severed from Kronika he would have no purpose. Hope he turns from neutral to good alignment, mainly because he does not seem to be the evil type from what we have seen of him.

I'm guessing he's a creation of Kronika, made from her sands of time that we seen in the first reveal trailer. Hence, his sand powers. The MK twitter posted that every time he dies, he becomes stronger and smarter so maybe with enough deaths he learns that Kronika is not who he believes her to be and turns on her in the end.

I'll say it now Gearas will be the least played Kharacter in MK11.

Not excited about him being the Sub-Boss

His Fatality was badass.

I would rather have Tremor since they share some moves.

He looks great, way more interesting than Tremor, for sure.

I like his story and his moves, and I'm sure we can make his look more interesting in custom.

A welcome addition!

I wasn't too enthusiastic about his look at first, but his moves sold me. I've always thought a time gimmick character would be fun (though I always expected it would be Taven) and the sand + grappling puts an interesting spin on it.

His play style reminds me a bit of Kotal Kahn, which has me somewhat concerned that the Emperor won't make the cut. Here's hoping I'm wrong about that.

Whoever tries or wants to kill Johnny is not a good character. Every meaning of the word "good".

Although he looks to be a subservient construct, he has a lot of intelligence judging from what I seen of him so far. I like the look of him a lot and his calm demeanor is alos likable. His ending pose is the best out of all the characters in my opinion. Him walking towards the camera purposely looks epic in my opinion.

From the gameplay perpective he hits very hard with shorter combos as well. Better for newcomers in my opinion. He has got some advanced moves with his teleports so there is that as well. Whatever the case he is extremely damaging.

Ok... so... my huge Problem with Geras are two things. First he looks like Kronika, like someone mentioned before. Second his Moveset... Just imagine every move from him with green colors instead of sand. And now the name Geras changed into Green Lantern.. yeah you got me. He isn't that iconic for me and his fatality is boring. He has the Power of sand and time? Yes instead of this he beats you to death. I think his fatal blow would be a better fatality then the one i saw. But maybe he is fun to play... i don't know.

Kind of a stupid question, but why does every trailer end with “You’re next”? I don’t get who or what they are referring to. I understood the “Who’s next?” for MKX as they kept revealing character after character. But this one I don’t get it. Someone explain please.

I assumed it just means "You're next!" as in you are next to get your ass handed to you because in the announcement trailer it showed current day Scorpion and then Raiden getting killed. It's like a way of saying, "Step into the arena and fight if you dare!".

I saw that one grapple with ridiculous corner carry and I was sold. Definitely putting some work into him to see if he's worthy of being my main.

It is a tag line for this entry. For example adverts, especially on television, have tag lines.

I'm not really interested in this character. I agree with a lot of the critique of his design and my gut feeling is that this character will fall by the wayside after MK 11. That said, I had doubts about the Kombat Kids and I wound up maining Cassie. We'll just have to wait and see if he works out.

Geras breakdown

The video in the link explains more about the extra special moves Geras can equip. Although the Reverse Time special take up all three slots, it seems very poweful since you can even use it in hit stun and gain health back. The sand teleport is very good. Taking 30 seconds off the clock is also very powerful if you have a life lead as it will also put a lot of pressure on your opponent.

Has anyone noticed how we can make Geras look Drahmin. I think MK11 will give players alot of creation to make them look like some missing characters. Scorpion smoke etc.

I had the same reaction. I initially thought his look was underwhelming, but seeing everything he could do in the trailer definitely won me over. They have some really fun and creative stuff in there, and I’m excited to see more of the time aspects in action.

I think that may have been the hard part of seeing him in matches. No one really knew how to use him.

Since Geras's moves involve controlling sand that can form solid block thereof, I think his moves either would have been best given to Tremor to further develop Tremor as a main stay character. Or since the game features alternative timelines, maybe he could be from an alternative timeline where Fujin was not the only elemental god (from Mortal Kombat Mythologies) who survived Shinnok assault in the heaven in MK4/MKX, as the elemental god of Earth; he already has crack skin like how the elemental god of Earth look like in Mortal Kombat Mythologies.
