Mortal Kombat 11 Krossplay will become "Kross Generation" when the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles welcome Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate next week! NetherRealm Studios confirmed the update to online play with a social media post, also addressing confusion caused by a WB Games post. Full story:
Krossplay function was introduced to Mortal Kombat 11 with beta trials last December, allowing players to do battle across the divide of Sony and Microsoft consoles. Casual matches will be retooled November 17th to accommodate players on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X & S, and Xbox One!
PC and Nintendo Switch will not be part of the Krossplay update. The developer clarified their ommission after WB Games Latino had implied the third-party ports would be included in the update.
On Nov 17, Krossplay will become Kross Generation for Playstation & Xbox players. Toggle the feature in settings to play Casual matches w/ players on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series XIS, & Xbox One, as well as in designated Online Rooms. Differences in development staff and technology are one cause that may challenge balanced online play and server maintenance between the more popular competitive platforms, and PC & Switch.
MK11 is free to upgrade if you already own it on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. The Xbox Series X & S have officially entered the market, with PS5 set to follow in major markets starting November 12th. You can get Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate for all of the platforms covered, and Google Stadia, starting November 17th!
Kombat Pack 2 will also be available for existing players, adding Mileena, Rain and Rambo! Click their names to check out each gameplay trailer preview and tell us how you'll be playing in the Mortal Kombat 11 forum!
