What in the absolute mother of fuck did they do to Tanya?

Umgadi remind me of the meaning of the 3 Blades in Shenmue, as it refers to imperial occupational bodyguards. The members protected emperors too, but with kinds of utensils.

TBH, I dont dislike her redesign, but it feels weird the change just for the sake of it. I mean, I'm not even sure of Li Mei looking asian too. Again, I don't dislike it, but after Sub-Zero,Scorpion, Liu Kang, Kitana, Mileena?, Kenshi you would think there are enough asian looking characters, and I say 'looking' because they are supposed to be from Outword if im not mistaken.

And they need some serious better designs, Li Mei looks to Mileena what Scorpion looks to Sub-Zero in this game. So much detail, but I'm not sure about the substance.

Would like all Umgadi (like Tanya and that) to get the same outfit as a skin, as it's faction-like. Think (Raiden) the monks in the orange, but different.

I dont like Tanya's face. Her designs previously makes her look Egyptian. So being black now seems weird to me. Other then that Baraka Li Mei and Tanya gameplay is awesome. And I hope we get clarification on if Khmellion is that girl and if she has a role in story mode.

Tanya = Isis Williams (the fighter).

Tanya is my favorite character. I was so hyped she was on the main roster and then I saw the trailer. She went from a dark skinned sexy sorceress to something outta the woman king. She is so unattractive now. Li Mdi looks more like Kim Wu from KI LoL. But thank you for saying it. I am devastated by the unnecessary redesign

I like that they're doing that with the Lin Kuei. Feels like a nice homage to the ninjas originally being palette swaps.

They Wakandized her fulltime.

You all act like there won't be multiple costumes and skins for Tanya. Relax, I personally am glad she is in the game. I wonder if she will double cross her allies or in this remake she actually remains loyal to her people.

I like the re-imagining of the Tarkatan people. They're not a race instead the deformities are actually a disease. I think it is a great idea that Baraka is in the game and he's embracing that feral nature he is getting from his sickness. I think it's awesome that Mileena is no longer a product of Shang Tsung's flesh pits but instead is now a conflicted person who is masking her sickness to the world. The storyline is looking pretty good so far!

Overall, I think this new storyline is shaping up to be fresh and will be very entertaining. The only thing that I can't seem to wrap my head around is that Scorpion is actually Kuai Liang. I hope they explain where he gets his hell spawn powers from, or if they're just basic fire abilities. For true Scorpion fans I'm curious how do you feel about Hanzo Hisashi and the Shinrai Ryu not being in this game and being retconned?

I mean, I doubt skins will change character race, why would they do that after they decided to change it now?

My problem with all these changes is that they doesn't seem like an improvement, but instead change for the sake of change. I can get Li Mei redesign, but even with MK logic, why would she had a tattoo? Or why Tanya would had a haircut impractical for battle? Again, I know the game doesn't lend to 100% realism, but I can't see a change for the best. For me, Baraka was more interesting being a race apart than a mutant, and Mileena was always meant to be the natural enemy of Kitana like Sub-Zero was to Scorpion.

And with all those changes, now you wonder what will be the lore about in the future. I really dislike how NRS manages the canon, they already made big changes in MKX only to dismiss them in MK11. The game canon becomes a bigger mess.
