After decades of trivia and years of speculation: Jean-Claude Van Damme has finally come to fight! The legendary "Muscles from Brussels" is a Premium downloadable skin in Mortal Kombat 1 with likeness and voice. Watch the official trailer:

The star of influential martial arts movies like Bloodsport and Kickboxer finally embodies the character he inspired, donning the shades of Johnny Cage for his own take on a moviestar turned kombatant. The splits punch has never looked quite so right as delivered in a furious combo from JCVD!

The guest appearance is a long time coming. As series co-creator John Tobias told MKO during a previous interview: "I believe Roger Sharpe (famous pinball aficionado and historian), who handled Midway's licensing deals at the time, was approached by a movie studio with Van Damme's Universal Soldier film as a possible game tie-in. We envisioned Van Damme's involvement as a character in our game's story, or as playing himself in the game. That deal didn't pan out and we simply moved on."

We caught a brief glimpse of the Van Damme skin during Ed Boon's appearance on Hot Ones, and you'll be able to get it straight away as a pre-order bonus for MK1 Premium & Kollector's Edition. Don't worry if you missed out -- he's also part of the Kombat Pack with six DLC fighters and five Kameo fighters!
