Going by Reptile in the trailer, I'm all for Animalities being part of the actual gameplay, and not finishers (for some).

If human, Ashrah's 'cosmetic' look would remind me of Shayna Baszler (on the right) and Sareena's would remind me of Ronda Rousey (on the left).

I'm beyond excited to play as Reptile. Everything about him looked great and I love that they're giving us a full human and full beast form for him too; I really think that was sorely needed after hybrid looks in the last several games.

Reptile is the best of both worlds now. His human form looks amazing and his shift into beast is so smooth and satisfying. What a great implementation of a genuinely awesome idea. Could this be the animality that Boon has been hinting at?

As Reptile is one of my favorites of all time I. Super excited. Also Ashrah back finally is a great thing. Havik was ok but I'm so curious about his moves now.

Sareena as a Kameo is cool playable later please I'm gonna use Sareena alot. I'm glad shes featured again.

I know most folks hated Reptile's Deadly Alliance look, but I personally loved it. This is cool because he has the human form most folks seem to prefer and still has something resembling his DA look at the same time. Though I do wish he was clothed when he transforms... lol

Now that you pointed it out, I can't unsee it. I'm not a fan of that forehead, but that's nitpicking.

I see Syzoth as the human formed Reptile, so question is is what kind of Reptile is Reptile? I know Saurian gets mentioned, but in the trailer he looks a lot more like a Pogona, also known as the bearded dragon.

Good to see some 3Dera/Deception characters back in action.

Havik deserved to come back, I really liked and enjoyed him in MKD

NRS did a good job with Asrah and continued her story from MKD.

Reptile looks badass, and his human/reptilian playstyle looks really cool, always loved him and still do now.

I know I bitched a lot about MK11 and wasnt sure about MK1, but it gets better with every reveal. Had to get used with the whole new universe but its coming allright I think.

I like the duality of Reptile/Syzoth; playing as both the human and reptilian/Saurian form provides the best of both renditions.

Ashrah's redesign works, especially since the original timeline (MKD and MKA) stated she was an Oni who used the kris sword to slay demons as an attempt to purge her Oni form. The new render removes her kasa hat, which made people mistake her for a female Raiden in her debut.

Sareena finally displays her demonic form, possibly due to Quan Chi not sustaining her human appearance. If she becomes playable, she may be like Reptile and switch between her human and demonic forms.

Havik's redesign is not as good as his MKD appearance; he looks too human and less decayed. His MKD form had him looking more decayed and reminded me of Evil Ash from the film, Army of Darkness. His original "Deadite" look complemented his hyperextensions, bone breaks, and Human Pencil Sharpener fatality (where he quickly devoured both of his opponent's arms and spat out bloody chunks). Hopefully there is an alternate skin that resembles Havik's MKD appearance.

No Hotaru wont be in. Ed Boon has confirmed that threw Twitter.

I suspect that all the characters will be upgraded before the game is released.

I think we might see Hotaru in the story mode, but as far as being playable I think that ship has sailed. We'll have to wait for KP2 to see if he pops up.

But as far as I can see his moves are still crazy/cool. Tearing his own arm off and slap you with it, spinning aroud his tosro blowing straight punches. I think playwise he will be ok. Hoping for that updated MKD original costume :)

I agree with you. I like his moves, but his appearance (with the exception of scarring around his mouth and some parts of the body) does not reflect his chaotic demeanor as much as his MKD appearance did. The debate somewhat resembles the original appearance of the Joker in MK11's Kombat Pack trailer (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRjbIuJWtlg), where people complained about the boyish, cosplay-like, and less menacing look that did not reflect his comic book appearances. As a result, the Joker's face was changed by the time of his launch (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXjRFCPiFoA).
