Does anyone know?

If it was b/c of low ratings or lack of viewers, I won't be surprised. The direction that show went in was a letdown for me.

i don't know.
i know just one thing:i don't like that show at all.
the animations and fights were too crappy, also for a cartoon.
no blood and just a bit f violence make that caroon suck mre than normal.
it was suited for all ages, and maybe this was a error
however i don't know.
if i can choose between a third movie and a second series for conquest instead of a second series of DOTR i choose movie/conquest 2.

Was originally made by the USA Network for their now dead Cartoon Express and was one of a handful of other not so great but enjoyable toons (Wing Commader Academy, Dragon, and a few others). There is even one story arc that crosses over all these shows. (Its the one with the silver orb jumping different dimensions)

Anyways...unless I'm mistaken none of these shows lasted more than one season and that is the way they were planned. They were all to be one long line of commericals just before they stopped showing the Cartoon Express to make room for old movie re-runs.

I actually like the shows since it was enjoyable in a corny, kiddie way that helped get my mind off of work and school.

Yeah, it was a fun show. Did anyone else notice that the very last episode had better, or at least more stylized animation than the previous episodes? Like everything had more of a shape to it and just better drawn than all the previous episodes.

The characters were drawn larger, more black was used, and 'shine' was added to some of the characters (notably Sheeva). Thats about it. ^_^

actually i learn a lot of english from that carton(and from masters f horror with italian subs) so i'm grateful to DOTR.
however i didn't like it.great storyline, but absolutely low quality visuals.
and again ok,it was intended as a childish program, but this was a mistake to me.
they should make a cartoon for 13 pg-rated at least we could saw some blood.
instead the entire program was totally non-violent content.
also mk conquest was intended to be for all the family, but in that show occasionally blood and brutal murderes appears
it was cool when the edenian warrior had the face sfigurated by a shadow priest in episode 20.

If you consider having most of the characters on the show bisexual or gay family fun, then i guess ur right, lol. Kiri was fuckin tila tequila, she fuckin had Ahnka then once Ahnka died she gonna jump in Reptile's pants, lol.

That's one thing i love about MK Conquest: it didn't cut the 'less apropriate'.

In episode 7 you could easily see people talking about the Black Dragon controlling DRUGS, PROSTITUTION, GAMBLE MONEY etc..

In lots of episodes you could see prostitutes walking around Zhu Zin, and often offering their services to the characters, in an episode you could see some farmers and all ready to hang Taja for being a thief. Black magic and sorcery and other unholly acts as "soul stealing" were displayed freely, misticism was everywhere to see. Thievery was common, Siro almost got himself killed in an episode by a gang of street thugs.. etc.

God, i'm gonna write a fan second season for this AWESOME series.

I don't give a fuck about MK: Defenders of the Realm.
It's childish, isn't that great in terms of quality, and i don't like it.

Seriously, i really hate the cheesy parts of MK. MK is supposed to be serious, bleak, it has to have that dark aura of misticism and death, not fucking motor kombat modes, chess kombat or tetris, childish animated series of Babalities (thank HEAVENS thei're dead).

As the live action MK media seems to be cursed to eternal Oblivion, i think that if any other MK animated series is ever coming out, it must be the continuation to Mortal Kombat Conquest. I know the series was live action, but if they ever want to resurrect it, they surelly will not use the same actors because of the time gap that exists, and the physical differences that it means in the actors.

Think about it, a second MKC season, only made with animation techniques. With all the misticism of the first season, but in an animated form.

Yea, I'm almost surprised that Mk hasn't had surgery done to it on the Anime table.

Except for the fact that alot of westerners don't like MK. With anime becoming more recognized by Hollywood, maybe we'll see something in the furture. Like AniMatrix

*shrugs*

Whatever.

Lets be real shall we?
When it came out it pretty much was watched by those who only play or played mortal kombat at the time. The fact that no one really knew about it until the 6th or 7th episode didn't help either cause there wasn't much marketing for it to let anyone know about it.

Hell I was flipping through channels and landed on usa and there it was at 9:30am sunday morning.Kinda the same was with MKC I just happen to be flipping through channels and saw the dragon icon and was like "WOW" and continued to watch. But where was the marketing for either show until MKC landed on TNT.The fact that time slots for it kept changing hurt it as well.

And your right that the show was drawn to a kid crowd which didn't help at the time cause those who were playing the game at the time were in their teens. It didn't get good until midway< through the season and then it was cancelled when they started to get the idea of what a MK cartoon should be.

And the Anime please tell me you are kidding?MK was never ever met to look like a Anime from Japan.MK is supposed to look real and anime just doesn't fit mk IMO

Hmm I would have to differ. I think MK could relate more to anime than any american cartoon counter part.

Even Ed Boon has stated that certain characters are based off of Hong Kong and other Asian cinema. It seems the characters clothings have evolved to something more of what you would see in a fantasy manga. Hell even Dragon Ball Z could relate to the style of some of the opening cut scenes in the recent games. MK lost its "American Look" years ago.

Seeing how Defenders of the Realm never really gained a large audience in the first place, I dont see how going anime style would hurt it. If anything animes gain more of a cult following over longer periods of time than a quick pop culture cartoon.

Lastly who else is going to portray the violence that takes place in MK other than anime? American networks are far too uptight to show blood splattering or gruesome fatalities unless made for direct to video. Japan would prob be the only one to give MK the proper darkness it needs as far as turning it into a cartoon.
