Quan Chi in Annihilation

"Quan Chi was going to appear in the climax of Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, but his scenes were cut from the final print. He still appears in some posters and international versions of the movie on laserdisc and DVD."

This was from the Wiki page about Quan Chi: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quan_Chi


Now, I knew about Quan Chi's original involvement in Annihilation which was eventually cut. My question is, can someone confirm the information above? About the international and laser disc versions of the movie?

Cause, honestly, I'll order the laser disc just to see it, but I don't want to do it for nothing. Anyone?

yes is true.you can buy the chinese version of Mk Annihiliation(which have english subs) and you'll see an alternative ending with Quan Chi.
however google it is enough.

All the ending consists of is Shinnok asking if everything is going according to plan, Quan Chi nods yes, and they both leave. This leaves things open for a third movie. Sadly, I can't find any vids. Or the person slated to play him, all I could find was this promotional poster with him on it.


But if you're that desperate to see it here's 3 laserdiscs on eBay, ask if they have the Quan Chi scene

Yeah I know how you feel, when I saw Cloverfdield, I sat through 15 minutes of credits for a 2 second messaage that says "it's still alive" backwards. And waited through the credits of ron Man to see Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury.

nope,its no where on youtube and i am very surprised with that.
But if I had to guess I would assume the alter ending would be on the blu ray versions of Mortal Kombat Annihilation.If you can find the 1997 dec issue of sci fi weekly there is a pic of that scene.I tried to find a scan of that image online but have not been able to.Why the ending was not a extra on the dvd is beyond me.

Well, believe me, if I ever get my hands on a laserdisc, I'll be sure to post it on Youtube. So far, the eBay sellers don't want to answer my question about the alternate ending. Or at least I haven't seen a reply.

It was revealed that the guy who played Quan Chi was nothing but an extra who lived in the country where they filmed MKA, he didn't speak a word of english. I read that on a site from an interview with the producer of MKA.

Does anyone know which version of the Laserdisc contained the Quan Chi ending?

According to my sources there are 4 versions of the laserdisc:

1. USA AC-3
2. USA DTS
3. Japan WS
4. Hong Kong WS DSS

Assuming Chinese MKA is the Hong Kong laserdisc, yes as far as I know it is. But it has english subs

For as interesting as that may be, i think i would pretty much laugh my ass of any guy who tries to portray Quan Chi, after i've seen Adoni Maropis in Conquest.


That guy IS Quan Chi.

I've played MK Mythologies Sub Zero long after i've watched all of Conquest, and when i saw Richard Divizio in the role of Quan Chi, i was literally embarassed. Adoni is unreachable as Quan.

Well the 2nd Mortal Kombat movie pretty much sucked and I bet you the Quan Chi scene was the best part in the movie. So if you do get the clip please post it on youtube.
