I think Brian Thompson was a pretty good choice.
His performance suffered due to bad directing
and bad script writing where they changed Shao Kahn from a War mongering mad man( or what ever he is lol)
to a spoiled brat who is constantly trying to pleas his father.
If they casted him for another movie ( as if that will ever happen, the movie being made I mean )
they should actual one have him wear the damn helmet,
two when unmasked actually look like Shao Kahn!
Meaning spike protrusions from his forehead
and red eyes

Show isnt fat anymore he's lost quite a bit of weight and if Khan was real i couldnt realistically seeing him being incredibly muscular, id rather not have everyone exactly like their game counterpart seeing as how almost EVERY character now in the series puts bodybuilders to shame.

Big Show is fat. If you're extremely fat and you lose weight, you're still fat.

Yea Big Show is fat and over weight FYI.

But I could see Kane or the Undertaker doing a good job.
But other then that no one else from the wwe.

Having Big show play Shao Khan is bad,its even worse then the guy
who played the new micheal myers.

do we really want pro wrestlers in the MK movie?
I don't think so, bringing these types of actors will just ruin it - look at every film "The Rock" has been in. He ruined perfectly good movies like Doom and the Scorpion King just because he was the leading actor.

I bet 100% the big show wouldn't be able to act out shao kahn.

How about nobody, because it's a waste of time to even pursue a third movie in the first place? It wouldn't make sense anyway to bring Kahn back because he kicked the bucket in MK:A. There's something to be said for continuity, even though Annihilation sucked rotten eggs.

Thompson was bad enough as Kahn in MK:A, but casting a pro wrestler instantly cheapens a movie, even this one. By the way, the Big Show is a smoker, on top of being overweight and devoid of any real mobility.

You know I wouldnt mind a pro wrestler doing it as long as they have someone do the voice over of his character.

LOL, yeah, because an actor can not shave his head to portray a bald character at all... And Vin Diesel wouldn't be able to correctly portray Kahn's imponent attitude, starting by the voice, wich is a trademark of Kahn.

I say, bring back Jeffrey Meek, from Mortal Kombat Conquest. He can fight for real, and to conceal his non muscular body, use the same type of amour/warlord suit, he used in Conquest.

I reckon they have no one and make him CGI; If the budget allows it.

Khan needs to look like he did at the end of MK1, of course with todays better visuals. He's not human by any stretch, and I'm sure all of us want the new movie to follow the games and comics as close as possible to avoid being heavily criticized like 'Annihilation'.

If the budget isn't big enough make him CGI, maybe the guy above depending on his acting skills. Put a ton of prosthetics on his face, and make him look like a real monster. A human Khan, ala Brian Thompson, is a joke!

Fantastic.

As for the pro wrestling thing, I do think that Kane could actually do a good job at it, depending on the type of role Kahn would have anyway. A silent, fierce Kahn would suit Kane, but if we're talking MKC kind of Shao Kahn, there's really no better choice than the Meekman.

Yeah, I'm going to go with Jeff Meek here. I mean, it's Jeff Meek! He was awesome in Mortal Kombat Conquest. If they made Meek Shao Kahn in Annihilation, critics would say Meek was like Raul Julia in the Street Fighter movie-a villain who saved a small ounce of credibility for the movie.

Jeff Meek all the way. Besides, all the make-up will cover his age anyway.smile

so what are his martial art abilities?

Sure one can argue that the real Kahn in the games didn't do much but stand and kick, but look at him in MK Aramgeddon. He has more flexibility an agility now.

So like I asked before... Can this big mother fucker even perform coreographed fight scenes without having those pussy low-budget threshold morons waste money on training his ass?

I'm sick of shitty fight scenes like MKA and MKC.

Actually Jeff Meek is a black belt in Aikido, so he'd acutually make some good fighting scenes if anything. Besides, it can't hurt to choreograph some more actors anyway. I'm sure Linden Ashby, Bridgette Wilson, Sandra Hess, and Lynn Williams had to learn some Martial Arts moves during the two movies, so hey, at least Jeff Meek is good fighting wise and Martial Arts wise.

not really. MKA had horrible fight coreography, and the series was more flash - yet still good entertainment as eye candy. Substance is needed in fights not sommersaults as evasions.

No, it's just that your standards are pretty low.
If I can tell an actor/stunt double pauses and waits for an anticipated move so he can block it or prepare to pretend it hurt, then the fighting is fucking lame.

Fight scenes with too many back flips is incredibly unrealistic and gets old pretty fast. Somebody who has studied martial arts knows half of the things they did in that gay show would never be done by a real fighter. There is a difference between doing moves as a demonstration and actual moves you would use in a fight.

Sure, you have to put some of the fancy moves in to make the show look interresting, but if MKC did such a great job with its coreography, then more viewers would have tuned in out of interest and the show would have kept on going. But it didnt... did it? NO. It died. I'm glad it died and i'll be even happier to see it stay in its grave.

AND PLEASE, don't take this as me bashing you or trying to start shit... I just passionately hated the fight scenes.

I LOVED the fight scenes. They were like no other. I had never ever seen anything like those fights in any other movie or tv show.
I agree that sometimes it was ridiculous. I'd roll my eyes at Rain leaping into the air and do a thousand corkscrews just to avoid a kick, but the good outweighed the bad IMO.
I loved those fights and I wish the fights in the movies would be like them. It's all flash, but it's damn entertaining and cool. I DON'T want to see realistic fights in an MK show or movie. MK has never ever been about realism, even when it used live actors to play the characters.

Well i'm a big WWE fan so i would like to agree with the guy that said Big Show should be Shao Khan but he isn't lean enough but if Taker was shave his head he would make a great Shao Khan.
