Unfortunately, MKL2 was awful in terms of storytelling. Tancharoen got by with Rebirth and MKL1 but his weaknesses were exposed in the second season.
Now they have to deal with that Mk Legacy Season 2 cliffhanger. Fortunately confirmed photos of Casper and Mark Dacascos working out a few months ago confirm that a Season 3 will be coming out possibly next year, but to be honest as much as I love the action, I think Season 3 should just be the last one. The plot has somewhat been convoluted to a point, it constantly changes live actors for character roles, and the new character traits such as Emo Liu Kang and Kung Lao switching from being a friend to Kang and outright shunning him are just poorly presented and stupid. I think the Legacy series try to be creative as possible, but somehow they do it to a point where they pass over the original story source such as BOTH Kuai Liang and Bi-Han dead or Johnny Cage, a typical humor foil being transformed into a gritty figure. They just don't work. Even after I watched both series, I can't even remember even liking them except Shang Tsung being portrayed by the original live actor from the 90's movie. Awesome as always :B
What the MKX live-action series in the future has going is that they DO have an original story source which are the video game and most importantly the comic. With these three medias blended together, I would not be surprised if MKX could be one of the most complex and engaging stories in all the MK universe.

The thing is, though, the only evidence we've seen of the production of the third season of Legacy is a couple images of CVD training. No casting/crew news, no hint of a storyline, nothing.
That's not a good sign, especially with the announcement of another MK web series.

^^^^ Keep in mind it wasn't until just this year until we found out anything about MKX. Until then there was also one or two of those "Twitter" rumors about someone being cast. Now we get new MKX info about once a month or so. If MK Legacy 3 is coming it will likely be announced closer to the game's release or even after.
For some reason, I smell the making of a movie based on MKX. They're already going out of their way to cross-promote this game with these comics, figures, and series, I hope they know what they're doing because Legacy and announcing a movie is coming sure isn't the greatest of signs.
With that said, all they have to do is devote one episode of the series that closes the cliffhanger of the second series of Legacy 2 and then continue with MKX.
Unfortunately there are so many possibilities with all of this now that the new storyline is focusing on generations like Cassie Cage.

Casper just tweeted those photos of him with Mark in early Sept. By then, the plan to announce whatever web series they announced last week should have been in place. Who knows if the Legacy crew was aware or not, but why cancel it? If this announced web series is different from Legacy, it could either be live action or animated. So anyway, I have a good feeling we'll be seeing Legacy 3 sometime next year, probably around the release of MKX. if there is another series in addition, or even in place to/of Legacy, at least MK media is still expanding

Not sure about MK and movies anymore ever since I watched Annihilation. lol Legacy didn't do it any justice, either.

They might be saving it for early next year to release along side Kombat Pack 2 just to reignite more interest in MKX.
Waiting for MK stuff to come out has been more frustrating than Star Wars news and Half-Life 3.
Now that MKX's hype has died down, I no longer care for this web series, especially after going through MKX's story mode over and over again and enjoying the comics less and less.

They should try another animated series too one day. I know some of you kewl kats are too awesome for anything animated but damn, it would be awesome. If you get a good company to do the art and animate it, and get a good company to dub it, it could be amazing.
Though idk any good western companies that would be able to animate it well, I have always thought eastern companies were superior in terms of animation, especially when it comes to fight scenes/choreography.
Oh my leeeerrddd just imagining Christopher Sabat voicing Scorpion *jizzes uncontrollably* lol

You know it won't though. Tekken is Japanese, so it automatically wins at graphics. Many bad things can be said about Japanese games, but they know what they're doing when it comes to graphics. The US games fall behind in that department.

Yes. The animation was beautiful. If MKX web series looks anything like that graphics-wise, it will be amazing. What exactly bothered you about it? Besides the story coz we've already established that we're talking about the animation here.

True but WB could have japanese artists do the graphics. or Todd mcFarlane
But whats wrong with japanese games? The 15 best selling games ever are japanese. And honestly most favorite and iconic games are made by japanese developers aswell.
Please WB consider an animated web series of MK made by Todd McFarlane. Spawn was dark, mature, gore. everything MK can use.
