There are far better choices for Shao Kahn than what we got. Heck even Nathan Jones would be better. He's a lot bigger than this gentleman. I didn't like the first film with the exception of the opening scene of Sub-Zero and Scorpion. The 1st film had its own plot that made no sense seeing fighters die before the 1st Tournament when they actually compete in the 1st Tournament. In MK1 we were missing the real story of Mortal Kombat. With this sequel the casting was starting off good but now I'm uncertain.

I am officially holding out until the movie is released, at least to theaters if not even until the home release, to give any more of my take on this film, the new animated film and even the new game.

Back when I was covering the production in-depth it took a huge toll on my physical health (and in a lot of ways since I was staying up late and waking early, even on my mental health). I had to undergo carpal tunnel release surgery due to the years of grinding on a mouse and keyboard (been active since '95) and my take on the production of the film - well the pre-production and development as well - was less than positive, which, I didn't realize actually swayed a lot of public opinion into the negative side, at least with MK first-gen generations.

Therefore, I also ask that anyone who has insider information, especially any script leaks, hold off until the film is released on home media. I really do not want to ruin it for myself and maintain a more open mind.

My site was taken offline a couple years ago due to my hosting providers *cough* GoDaddy *cough* changing its policies, essentially forcing me to adapt a the new cloud storage system for my files. I would have had a problem with that but my site utilized traditional HTML4.01 and was dependent on linking to files store on the same server as the web content and had been designed over a period of several years (although more active from 2010-2016) so changing the links for 1000s of files simply was not feasible as they were threatening to shut down my grandfathered web space if I didn't comply.

I am quietly sitting in the background and archiving mainly news from credible news sources (Variety, Hollywood Reporter) and select content from cast and crew's Twitter (basically the logos and cast meetups, the stuff that will matter to fans in 20 years), hoping one day I can return my site to its preservationist glory.

Until then, it's a very exciting and active time for Mortal Kombat and I am looking forward to seeing these future products released.
