VERY impressed with Kabal's design. I must admit they've definitely surpassed my expectations regarding character costumes.

Kabal is definitely not going to have any lines and he will die after 1 fight scene. That might not be great for Kabal fans, but at least he's getting an awesome look.

To be fair, that's kind of the extent of Kabal's relevance to the franchise anyway.

How do you know for sure he will be killed?

He's fighting Liu Kang, who summons a giant fire dragon. Sounds like a Fatality to me.

I am more interested in his lore. Will he be a Black Dragon in this movie, working for Kano? Will there even be a Black Dragon in this movie? I mean, anyone would say yes, but something from the trailer makes me think that both Kano and Kabal work alone, or for someone else. Maybe Kabal works for Shang Tsung.

This is just my idea and not based on the leak script... but he could narrowly escape death somehow? Transport? Portal warp? Etc. I really hope they're not revealing most deaths in this video.

The recently released banner shows Kabal is on the side of Evil.

I just hope that they bridge the game lore with the source material somehow. Don't just say "he's from Outworld in this because he looks like a creepy dude".

I had an idea that maybe the black dragon had their hands in the Outworld pot earlier on in this continuity, and maybe Kabal had an "accident" while dealing with them, and is kept alive thanks to a fusion of Outworld magic and Earthrealm technology. Therefore he is allied with Outworld. It would just take a few lines to explain that, and they could still let the character be a bad guy like they want. Hope they do something like that, but we'll see.

That's a great idea, but if I had to risk it I'd say he's going to be just an evil looking guy on the side of evil.

Honestly, I get it. Of course I'd prefer every cool character to have their lore respected and revealed in the movies, but at the same time MK has a lot of characters and these movies can't be too long.

I think we're lucky that Rain got cut from the movie because he would probably just be another random Outworld assassin. Hopefully if they make a sequel they can go more into the mythology of Edenia and give him a better role.
