Wow.. each episode keeps getting better.. can't wait to see the Cyrax, Sektor and Hydro story go down next week.

Loved the fight sequence and that we got the actual powers in this episode.. "Get Over Here" gave me chills..

Really impressed by the casting of Quan Chi too.. given he's not seen the character in game, tv or that before, he did a great job with it.. very cunning and creepy.. perfect for Quan chi.

I agree, Quan Chi is being potrayed PERFECT in this series. He makes Shang Stung and even Shao Kahn look like shit....

So Sub-Zero didn't involve himself in this plan at all?
Was Scorpion fighting Quan Chi the whole time?

The appearence of Shang Tsung REALLY REALLY confuses me...

Don't try to over think why Shang Tsung is involved. It's a reference to the Deadly Alliance, but in a show like Legacy where things are changed so drastically, involving Shang Tsung in the murder of the Shirai Ryu is kind of trivial.

so wait.. that wasn't Sub Zero at all? I would have thought the fight was.. but that he was on orders from Shang Tsung.. and that Quan Chi was in the village which explained how Sub Zero got there so quickly

You know. There was no need to cut the last 5 mins off the other episode and try to pull it off and make it seem like there were really to episodes here.

Btw, I enjoyed 7 and 8. But really, this episode was like 5 mins if u cut off the credits and beginning where it shows what happen in the last episode.

As awesome as that was... I mean really really awesome... I would have liked it if Sub-zero walked off and then have Quan-chi appear. Or at the very least make Shang morph into Sub because that's more his thing. Sub-zero should have been the one to kill Scorpian.

I also choose to believe that it was Sub-zero in that first fight, and then Quan-chi replaces him later.

I'm just as confused about when this is occuring as I ever was. There's a shogun who lives in a castle as part of the plot, so you'd think it's supposed to be the ancient past, but with Quan immediately resurrecting Scorpion and telling him to attend the tournament, it's like...which tournament, the one Johnny's going to, right? So does Scorpion have to sit around and wait for 300 years? Or is it just that instead of the Shirai Ryu living in a hidden village, they have a whole Japanese province worth of people pretending it's still the feudal era?

Also, Shang and Quan hanging out together is just annoying. As is Quan morphing and imitating Sub's powers (If you're gonna put Shang there, why not have him do it? He's the morpher!) as was, especially, how pitifully short the episode was. What possible reason could they have had to split this into two instead of putting the tiny little epilogue that this episode consisted of at the end of last week's? There was only like 4 minutes of content! The scene between Quan and dead Hanzo was way too rushed.

Quan killed the clan and family, Sub killed Scorpion himself. This is the first time anything had Quan murder Hanzo.
And if it's gonna be a guy morphed into Sub instead of Sub himself, then fucking make it the character who actually morphs instead of taking away the things that make Shang unique and special and giving them to other characters all the time.
Why even have Shang standing there if he's not actually gonna do anything? At least if he killed Scorp, but it was Quan's idea, then Quan's still the responsible one in the end.



I don't remember Quan ever morphing in Conquest, but even if he did, he never has in anything else, especially not in the games, so what does that prove? That two TV adaptations screwed up Quan having a power he doesn't have?

Do your research and play MK2011... it hasn't been Sub - Zero since MK4 ,,, and technically in this, it was still Sub Zero who killed Scorpion

Good episode, minus the silly need to do a 1 minute recap of the last episode, then lengthy credits. They could have just combined both Scorpion episodes into one.

As for plot and etc., I would not look too deeply into this, folks. It is just a web series. Enjoy it as an alternate universe created by a director who is a fan of MK, and nothing more. It is not verbatim plot story, then again is any of the MK games?! At this point, the MK story has gotten so polluted it is as full of holes as Star Wars these days.

I'm not insulted, just kinda surprised. It's been a while since some newbie was all "NO U" to me about something he was wrong about...

Uh...okay, formal introductions...Hi, I'm Razor. I'm MKO's resident continuity expert. Not to brag or anything, 'cause I hate when a conversation becomes about the users' personalities instead of about the actual subject, it's just that I'm the guy other people come to when they can't remember something canon, because I have it all memorized and am rarely, if ever, stumped. People don't tend to accuse me of needing to do research.

For example, allow me to demonstrate:



This is incorrect. MK4 and MK2011 both consider MK Mythologies canon. And in MK Mythologies, Sub-Zero (The elder one, Bi-Han) and Scorpion are both hired by Quan Chi to steal a map from the Shaolin temple. They fight each other to see who gets the map and Sub-Zero wins, murdering Scorpion with a Spine Rip.

Afterward, Quan Chi pays the Lin Kuei for the success of the mission by killing the Shirai Ryu for them.

Later, Sub-Zero and Quan Chi became enemies, so Quan resurrected Scorpion and told him that Sub-Zero and the Lin Kuei are the ones who killed the Shirai Ryu so that he'd go after Subbie for him.

So you see, Sub-Zero is the one who killed Scorpion. Quan Chi only killed Scorpion's clan and family. That was, and still is, the canon of the games.
And before you say anything, I realize this series is under no obligation to follow the games and I never complained about that. What I complained about is Quan having morphing powers. Morphing is what makes Shang special and I think it's wrong to take that from him. If Shang hadn't been standing there, it might not bother me so much. But why have the guy present and not only not use him for anything, but have someone else do his signature move when he's right there and could've done it himself? It's like if Kitana was fighting with sais or Jax did a leg grab, it's just weird and out of place, y'know?

Like I said before, this is a fictional world, and I wouldn't be surprised if they said "well, this is just how this certain area of Japan is, in our world."

Regardless, while I was watching, I was like, how are they going to say that Quan Chi did this, when Sub-Zero was using his ice powers? Then they're just like... well Quan Chi can do whatever the fuck he wants. He can morph, use other characters' powers... which is okay I guess.

The depiction of the icy deaths was extremely brutal, I loved that.

However, I was confused about the whole Scorpion resurrection scene. First Quan Chi appeared as Sub-Zero, with Shang Tsung, and they spoke and acted as if Hanzo wasn't directly in front of them and conscious of their words. They basically laid the truth out right in front of him, indicating that he was not able to hear them. Even after he grabs hold of Hanzo, Quan Chi still speaks as if he is unable to hear him. Then all of a sudden he starts speaking directly to Hanzo, indicating that he can now hear, with no transition or anything.

It's just a poorly scripted scene as far as I can tell, or am I reading into this wrong?

I'm also not insulting you.. just suggesting that Ed Boon and co. have shown that there was more at play in Scorpion's death.. so why not use this as proof..

Maybe Quan Chi, being a necromacer.. has a voice that is heard in whatever language the person is, so hanzo hears it in Japanese, we hear it as English.

He is basically the grim reeper to Shinnok's devil remember

Actually, that was probably someone else. I know there's a guy on some of the other MK sites who spells it "Razer" with an E, I think he's the "original" one. The only boards I've ever posted on are MKO and before that, MK Nightmares back in the late 90's.

It's cool though, I'm just sayin', it's still canon that Bi-Han killed Hanzo. Quan only did the family and clan.

Clearly, in this series, it was Quan Chi who killed Scorpion, and his allies that killed off the rest of the Clan.

This is a completely different world from the game's cannon, so any reference drawn from this movie and applied to the game is completely moot.

That bothered me too. That's one of the things I was thinking of when I said the end was way too rushed, because I'd LIKE to think that if they were given more time and budget, K-Tanch would've instead had it cut to a new scene, perhaps set in the Netherealm or something, and have Quan resurrect Hanzo THERE instead of just holding a conversation in front of his corpse until he spontaneously catches fire somehow, making you wonder what he heard, what he didn't, and whether Quan cast an actual spell or somehow Hanzo brought his damn self back to life.

Again, I already realize that and I'm not bothered by it. But the way it happened in the game came up so I was speaking to that specifically.

I actually was speaking to other guy, as he mentioned using this as proof of elements from the game's story. Albeit a very vague reference.
