Can't help but wonder if the SDCC delay wasn't partly required to finish the episode off. The suits really went to a level of quality that far exceeds the rest of the series -- and the fight was great, too! Fun to see some nice nods to the games in the moves and the design, which was the more sensible of the two to use, and well earned in the dialogue.
That said, like most of the episodes, it was really a lot of pointlessness.
This one did a better job of earning itself prior to and during the action, but it was still a very simplistic, unmotivated slice of non-story. The biggest thing missing from the series wasn't available time or budget -- it was writing.
Like the games, they seemed to address the quality of fighting completely at the expense of quality story. At times, it seems as if medical references were supposed to take the place of actual plot and story.
It was great to get more colour and a 1:1 representation of the games, at least from a design perspective. It's a shame more enthusiasm for the source couldn't have been more evident throughout. Would've preferred more game canon to what seems to be a MUGEN nod, vis a vis Hydro. The stolen over-the-shoulder shot from Iron Man was a bit naff, but at least it didn't go as Robocop as it seemed like it might.
Definitely one of the more enjoyable episodes, but personally, I'm still not all that interested in seeing more.

Where exactly has it been revealed that Mortal Kombat Legacy is done? I've noticed MKO has said this is the last episode of the series but where has Kevin stated that and where is the official statements giving the reason (which I assume because it hasn't garnished enough viewership, sponsorship, and fan interest to continue on a second season)?
On this episode - The CG effects are the only thing that saves it. Introducing a comic book character that died quickly (especially when DOTR had other Lin Kueis) as a robot, that again dies quickly, mixed with the boring "punch, block, kick" fake martial arts that the original makers of the 1995 film wanted to avoid didn't make this episode at all awesome. If a movie reboot does come out, Kevin needs to be held far away from it. Throughout Legacy it definitely took an unusual spin from the franchise that gave its charming reputation for a strong storyline.
Honestly, before we see a movie, we need an Anime adventure. I think the endings in MK9 and the anime sequences in Legacy shows it will look good for MK. And we can finally see things that budgets would prevent from happening in the films (like, in the 1995 film, Liu and Cage met Kitana in the Living Forest and Liu threw Reptile into a tree that ate him, obviously left out for budgetary reasons when they just reused the same Outworld set at the steel mill for all of Outworld).

They look fantastic, I really hope they get him to make a full series or new film. Only one small gripe; cyrax arm blades? buzz saw yes, arm blades no. When they were sawing I thought they were implanting as well as sawing, no such luck.

Just an FYI.. if you're wondering why Shane Warren Jones is lying down on a guerney a few metres away from where his torso is strapped to a vertical bed, I assumed the torso is Hydro. So Hydro is half man, half machine. Perhaps an unwilling participant. Whereas Cyrax and Sektor are more armour skinned, willing participants

Remember that Shane Warren Jones plays as both Cyrax and Hydro, and since the video's been taken down, I'm guessing that he played as Hydro in the cyborg battle, and Cyrax as a human, so that was most likely Cyrax on the table.
As for how I felt about the episode, all in all, aside from showing us the creation of the cyborgs, it was kind of boring. Like Mick said, there was no story, aside from
Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
showing us that the Black Dragon works closely with the Lin Kuei, and that Sektor and Cyrax were created before the initial MK tournament in this depiction of the series.

Also, I find that they wasted Hydro. I don't like this character, I hate how people kept on demanding him for DLC, I hate his lame name, his lame powers, and I hate the fact the people want him included in the canon, but for fuck's sake, if you're going to make a new character, use him well...
Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
If you want to test out your new kill bots, do it in a bloody fair fight. Hydro fought against the combined might of Sektor and Cyrax SIMULTANEOUSLY, and "failed the test" to move on to phase 2. How does a team ruthlessly beating a single unit prove that Sektor and Cyrax are capable on their own? Had they shown the two fighting against numerous opponents, or at the very least been up against two cyborgs like in the very first scene

... then it would've been okay. The effects were good, but the story was very lacking, and as others have said, a perfect waste of a potentially new character.
Also, for everyone who comes into the show threads and expects to not get spoiled... Why not watch the show first, and not check the thread until you do? Perhaps today's is not the best example, but sometimes the news post spoils the whole episode.

I can't seem to access the episode. I've gone to Gamespot's website, but every time I click on what seems like the link, it takes me to some random page that has nothing to do with Mortal Kombat..
