MK movies and series, RIP.
This series was bogus and a let down. The movie pitch for Rebirth was better in the 5 minutes it was compared to all these new Legacy episodes combined.
Maybe if the episodes were longer, there'd be something more memorable after watching them.
The way I see it, Legacy was just Annihilation but in parts. Sure, it has its good moments that lasted 2-3 seconds per episodes, but um what? That doesn't warrant a 2nd season OR a movie.
If there's a second season, it better be a TV series, 40 MIN long, or a FEATURE length movie.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who can see through the thick sticky mess of fan-boy jizz and see the truth. Or at least have the balls to admit some things just suck and not just fall in love with every piece of MK crap that falls in my lap.
Rebirth put high standards that Legacy just didn't surpass. Taking one story and breaking it up into two parts taking up two episode slots. Cheap and pathetic shit. Low budget or not.
What made it even worse was the fact that all the "part 2s" were filled with a recap of part 1. There was what? 5 minutes TOPS of new god damn film? Such shit. Such UTTER fucking shit.

A-fucking-men, hoss.
Just a few points.. I think fans love Rebirth without understanding that Edenia, Outworld, Goro, the magic and everything else was going to be in the movie.. It wasn't the CSI you saw on screen..
Rebirth had a bigger budget than Legacy did..
The majority of MK fans and non-MK fans give Legacy the thumbs up
So yeah, you are entitled to your opinion, just be aware of the facts :)

I liked Rebirth and Legacy equally, but I more prefer the one that isn't a bloody crime drama.

Agreed but Legacy isnt flawless but it someone tries to make Rebirth sound groundbreaking that's when I laugh. The short film had taken so many breaks from reality that it was ridiculous.(I'm talking about the "realism" that the rebirth advocates praise so much)
Here's why I say this:
1. Underground death matches with serial killers, birth defected psychos, and crime lords happen all the time right?
2. Best way for an actor to redeem himself is NOT looking for better scripts and diverse roles but going undercover and getting himself killed...
3. Eyeless Yakuzas can use Ninja powas to escape from prison!
4. Best way to become a black belt overnight is if you mutilate yourself by attaching fucking blades to your wrist when that not only could possibly cause someone to render their arms useless by cutting the wrong nerves but he's also at wrist of dying from blood loss by cutting a vein.
5. Instead of doing a petty little thing called arresting these psychos or shooting them , they decide to compete in a tournament as well as risk an actor's life when they could have found someone better equipped for that situation.
I can go on and on about this but these are the most ridiculous aspects of Rebirth....So noone sould be trying to act like the Rebirth liberties were amazing wen they really werent at all.

Save a spot for me on this band wagon, PLEASE.
The upcoming episode at comic con will be fifteen minutes MAX, and thats including a recap of the series and the credits. So were lookin at over a month long wait for maybe 9 minutes of shitty dialog, completely unnecessary/ pointless story changes, and some shitty special effects combined with martial arts that would have been mediocre in the 80's.
I don't mean to be such a pessimist BUT i really feel like all of the above are legitimate predictions with the highest probability of occurring considering what we have seen so far. I so badly want to be wrong here but have almost zero faith in anything related to the MK story. Even NRS delivers shit now.

Wow... good thing I never cared about cyrax or sektor... Nearly two months? By the time this thing comes out a lot of other people are going to have stopped caring.

I have to agree with this. Not enough episodes impressed me enough to justify them delaying the finale a whole month. Not sure whose decision this was, but it was a poor one.
Unless they are doing this for reshoots, but I know this isn't the case.

IMO while he did a better job than the director of MKA, it still was a mess.
To be honest, none of these episodes so far were even needed. We all knew the back story of all these characters and what happen. Most of us wanted a new movie or a new tv series.
And lets be honest. While we got to see some new MK movie type material, it still wasn't that great. Everything most of us wanted to see, only lasted about a minute or so in each episode, and I know its low budget web episodes, but still. I guess after waiting so long after MKA and MKC, I expected something better. This was decent stuff to watch, but I wouldn't give this director a movie deal or a second season. Maybe my expectations are too high, but I think there are better directors to go with if they were to make another MK movie.
I wouldn't mind if Paul Anderson helped make a new MK movie.

No, your expectations aren't too high. They're right where they're supposed to be.
But Paul Anderson? No thank you.
I think the MK series needs to take a step away from live action and go the animated route. Not cartoons. 3D. That way we don't have to worry about Hollywood paying millions of dollars to great actors who can't do shit with martial arts, or martial artists who can't act worth shit.
Just get some Mocap in there, digital artists can get the big bucks for all their hard work, and there you have it - fatalities that won't look fake because its all CG anyway, costumes that actually resemble the out fits from the game and not some garbage a hollywood costume designer decided to fuck up because they wanted to throw in their own opinion and style into it, and the environment that suits MK because you don't have to build fucking ugly sets from scratch made out of cardboard and paper mache.

lol, you think a full cg animation would be cheaper / more plausible?
A full cg production on the same budget as Legacy wouldn't even look as good as Reboot.

Ah yes, I remember that show. That was some swell CGI for the 90's.
To say that everyone knew the backstory is completely wrong.. i've read enough comments on youtube to sugges otherwise.
Remember, this is aiming for a wider audience than just MK fans.. so you need to understand that they are trying to entertain fans, but inform casual fans/ new to the series

Why the fuck r u assuming it'd have the same budget as legacy?
The conversation has switched to a full featured block buster movie.

I'm really excited about the speculation of an announcement at comic-con I've been waiting far too long for a new Mortal Kombat movie so that news would make my decade! although I would also like a series 2 so we can see more characters that haven't been seen in the Tv/Movie realm yet like Tanya/Bo rai cho/Kenshi/Fujin/Li Mei/Kabal etc it would also help strengthen them in the MK universe, I thought Michael Rogers did an outstanding Quan Chi performance! (for the 3 minutes he was in it) we need more and longer episodes- better costumes that make the characters more recognisable to the game and I'll be happy as Larry! bring on Comic-Con!!

Best Case: They announce a new MK movie and promise that it won't be directed by KT. When asked why, the NRS spokesman can say: "Seriously, did you just see that?"

First off, this.
And second, A fully animated movie on Legacy's budget would look better then you think.
That's why films like Suck-o-wolf get made like all cheesy and shit. It's cheaper.
Pay a whole costume crew, a whole makeup crew, camera stuff, actors, and so on...
OR
Pay three guys to sit in a room with a good software provided by WB and work on episodes all day, pay some lesser known voice actors, and boom, CG MK.
