The original Shang Tsung Cary Tagawa has just confirmed two things:
1) he is working on the new web series!
2) the principal photography begins on Monday January the 19th!
Isn't it exciting?!!!

I think it's just going to be moreso that in spirit than an actual continuation. The casting call makes it pretty clear they're following the continuity of the games, so fitting the two stories together would prove difficult!

Now raise the question will Shang be in mix?

Also, Casper Van Dien may be back as Johnny Cage. He made some tweets in response to Warren's announcing he's directing that sure make it sound that way, at least! (he also favorited a tweet asking about Cassie, but I don't know if that means much)
