She also comments on the violent nature of the games and acknowledges that the digital series will be far more reserved and grounded in reality, distancing itself from the much adored tongue-in-cheek fatalities of the Mortal Kombat video games.

Directed by Kevin Tancharoen, the live-action Mortal Kombat series will be released as digital episodes in April.
