The notorious flat paint jobs Jazwares insists on doing will most likely ruin the final product.

Maybe. Hopefully the "Deluxe" figures come with better paint jobs and QC. Over the years I've realized that deluxe is better way of saying "we give a shit about this figure" ;)
The exposed skin is usually Jazwares' let down. They(most of the time)don't paint those parts. You end up with dull paint on a shiny body. Shao Kahn has a wrestler like build, and shows a lot of skin. IMO, this is there most challenging MK figure to date. So far, they seem to have nailed it.
Kahn you dig it?! Gonna look excellent once painted, these figures are quite colorful. Ermac looks awesome.*oops, different compant. Forgive the blind bastard... ;P

A little bit of release dates to report.
Mostly all the new Jazwares figures are coming out in July.....atleast according to Entertainment Earth. So here goes.

Deluxe figures- Shao Kahn and Goro
Each figure measure 71/2 inches

X-Ray 2 Packs- Nightwolf and Kano & Liu Kang and Baraka

Battle Damaged- Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Nightwolf, Baraka, Liu Kang, and Kano

Regular 6 inch- Liu Kang, Kano, Nightwolf, and Jax

Regular 4 inch- Liu Kang, Jax, Kano, Nightwolf, Johnny Cage

Jazwares has also posted on there Facebook that they'll unveil an upcoming figure if the site receives 3000 likes. It may or may not be be an MK figure, go like the comment anyway.

Still looking for updates on the Sonya figure, Shao Kahn 4" figure with throne, Quan Chi, and Goro. Stay tuned and post any updates not listed here.

So no word on the standard 6" MK9 Reptile? Shame, it's the only figure that looked half way decent painted from the early shots.

I'm most definitely getting Jax, Nightwolf, and maybe Goro.

I also remember seeing a Shang Tsung figure? I will definitely pick him up aswell!

Jazwares said they would reveal something new if they're page reached 3,000 more likes. Well today they hit the mark and revealed Saho Kahn and Reptile!

Obviously the Kahn is at a bigger scale, 7 1/2" compared to the 6" Reptile.
Kahn also features a hammer but no removable mask.
Reptile has a removable mask, no weapon revealed yet. Both figures are planned for July 2012.

They look pretty good. Hopefully, Reptile's mask fits as nicely as it does in the picture.

Yeah i like the mask a lot on him. I'm happy with the design. I still can't find the 3 3/4" version anywhere. I Think that one has an interchangable head.

Haha, believe it ro not, I meant to psot these a couple days ago. I didn't have the removable mask pic though, that looks pretty cool. Also, Shao Kahn's nipples are brown. I need a Kung Pow joke in here.

Here's another Jazwares Update for you. This one comes in the form of a prototype. Behold, Liu Kang from MK 2011!

This is the 4" version. I'd mark the release date around July as stated on Entertainment Earth.com
This new MK prototype was released just a day after the Street Fighter line was Cancelled! Jazwares continues to show dedication towards the MK line.

Can someone explain why they decided to make his frame appear to be 100 lbs. lighter with no muscles and a clean shave?

Anyone still want to make the case that Jazwares is the best company to handle this line? I offer up now as the time to do so.

Better than NECA.

So it's NECA and Jazwares? I didn't realize every other company went out of business. NECA versions would be better either way since they would at least look like the characters. I'd take a less articulated Jax that actually looks like Jax over this piece of shit AIDS variant they cooked up.

This line is dead shit bottom now, on par with the GI Joe line, possibly worse.

Okay;

1. NECA is terrible, not even because they're figures are practically statues, but because their QC is terrible, I've never bought a figure from them that hasn't fallen apart any time you tried moving it around.

2. Companies like Hasbro probably don't feel like manufacturing an M rated property among their other lines like Spider-Man and My Little Pony. So you're left with companies like Spin Master, who did those mediocre at best Tron Legacy figures, or Gamestars who did those mediocre Assassin's Creed figures.

3. GI Joe is an amazing line with great quality, articulation, and character design. They get better with every upgrade and are probably the best 1:12 line on the market right now, right next to Hasbro's OTHER line, Marvel Universe.

I still think Mezco would've been a good choice for MK figures. They've done great with they're lines. Cinema of Fear, Hellboy 1 & 2, Heroes, and even Mez-itz. MK would be right in line with what Mezco already offers. Jazwares are hot and cold. Jax and Johnny Cage are horrific! They should've just cancelled those designs and started fresh. Shao Kahn, Scorpion, all the Shaolin Monks figures look great.
I would love to see another MK G.I.Joe line! They're not the most accurate figures, but they are so unique.

1. Jazwares has even worse QC. Their SF line ended because all you had to do was open the package and pieces would fall out. The middle run of the 6" line of MK figures had horrible QC issues also, and don't get me started on their non existent attention to paint application. When you ask them about these questions on facebook they delete your posts or simply ignore concerns altogether.

2. Fuck all of them, let Sycocollectibles take the goddamn reigns at this stage since they want to but can't thanks to Jazwares.

3. The MK GI Joe line was shit. Half of them you couldn't even tell who they were unless you read the name on the card. Sonya looked like a guy, Shang Tsung had a blue skin tight outfit, and Cage looke like a retarded terminator with silver gloves...awful figures.

Jazwares should be ashamed of not only their QC, but their customer support and overall quality of how they are handling this property. I heard their Sonic figures are ok, but their MK and SF figures are the absolute fucking pits.

Oh, you meant GI Joe's MK figures? They were made in what, 1994? I guarantee you if they had any interest in revisiting the IP, the end result would blow your fucking mind.

Yeah I have to agree with this statement. You can't compare new figures to the ones from the 90s! Where was NECA in 1994? Here's an example. People say all Jazwares are bad. Well compared with a 90s figure, they look AMAZING!
Like this....

Jazwares needs to get better with there products. Hopefully they will. I guess the bottom line is, they're the only MK figures we got and they are still the best so far.

That's exactly the problem though, they are the only option available right now so people are willing to settle for just about anything. I'd prefer no MK figures than shitty ones. Caveman Johnny Cage was bad enough, but then they released that sad face Baraka, that fucked up Reptile, and now Jax is ruined. Combine this with QC issues, bad paint apps., sleazy business decisions, a high price point.....sorry but this is just too much for me and I'm usually one who can look past the shortcomings of figures if the source material is something I'm a fan of. The fact that nobody else can touch the property right now action figure wise thanks to them is also very infuriating.

I'm only buying the best ones. Even if another company takes the license, they'll do what all the other companies did and release the same old characters. Atleast Jazwares is giving us some variety.
