The movies are wrong.

Johnny Cage did not die on MK2 but in mortal kombat annihilation Johnny died.

Movies are rarely ever right about anything, but in this case they are very wrong. This does stem from the days when Jade was basically just a pallet swap of Kitana and Mileena, and I'm not sure if she actually had dark skin in MK2 and MK3, but I think she does. For some reason, the movies chose not to acknowledge this, so she came out AZN. She's actually dark-skinned, and Edenian.

Its not the first time that the movies have messed up someone's nationality. Kano was originally orphaned by an American woman in Japan, and yet he wound up being Australian. That was hardly appropriate use of canon content.

Although I will admit he was good.

In the games Jade is African and indian, but in the movies she's Chinese.

Jade is a dark skinned Edenian woman. In MK Annihilation, she was played by an Asian actress. That doesn't make Jade an Asian woman. The end.

There are plenty of dark-skinned asian people. And yeah she is Edenian which is fictional (I think)

Jade is never Asian. She is Edenian and as XiahouDun84 said, the movies are wrong. Also, Jade is completely out of character in the movie *sighs* what's up with the producers and the people writing the script for one of the most horrible movie "adapted from one of the best video games of all time"?

Jade is portrayed as Asian in the game too. There are many south asians who are very dark almost black. They should have casted a darker asian for Jade.

Jade was probably Filipino in the games...because many filipinos are dark, me for one! and I loved the asian Jade in MKA...she looked hot and she looks like JADE! I loved her and her sexy accent!

Yeah a Filipino girl could play Jade. Yeah most white people think just because Jade is dark=black. Many Asians are almost black in skin color. Not all Asians are the stereotypical pale skinned chinky eyed and really short. Just because Sub-Zero is ice cold pasty skin doesn't mean he's a white boy! He should at least be half asian like Keith Hirabayashi. By the way I'm part asian, Cherokee, and Swedish. I am pasty white during winter and brown during summer. People don't think I'm a black person during summer or a white person during winter! Would it be funny if Liu-Kang and Kung Lao were played by white dudes? Would that ruin the movie? After all Scorpion is alwasys played by a white dude! It didn't ruin the movie!

Jade doesn't even look azn in deception she looks more indian and africian it said so on wilkipedia and indians r azn from india so all i can say is get an indian model or actress but horping they let TYRA BANKS play Jade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I liked that asian playing Jade and through all the MK game I just felt that Jade was Asian! throug hall of them!...I thought all threee of them were asian Kitana Mileena and Jade

Jade looks more African to me. I think Jade has that whole Egyptian and Amazonian thing going on which is really great.

I always thought Jade was black, but it would make more sense if she were from South America *for Earth standards, not edenian*. Kitana's hispanic, so I wouldn't be surprised if Jade was too *like Brazilian or something bi-racial like that*...
