I would like to help with the requests of the animated ones just need to figure out how to make em. Damn thing looks complicated.

The only reason I don't make them is because it's impossible for me to make a decent one under 250kb.

PLEASE, PLEASE save and re-upload these to your own photbucket or whatever accounts. DO NOT LINK FROM MINE. Seriously only a few people have granted this very simple request. It really makes me consider not doing any more animated sigs. It takes less than ten minutes and really helps me out by keeping mine account from exceeding it's bandwidth so I can keep making sigs.

BTW for anyone who wants an animated sig, take note of these two. Notice that the actual animation is short (only 1 or 2 secs) and doesn't take up the whole sig. Also notice how they have very tight color range. These are what you need to consider when requesting an animated sig. An overall color tone and what very short clip you really want showcased. This keeps the file size down and honestly makes for a better looking sig. So please think about these when you have an idea for an animated sig. I'm not griping, I'm just trying to keep these within realistic, doable parameters.

if you could please explain how to put gifs into sigs like how to edit them and just make them fit in the sig and work properly cause theres a few people that dont know and we can do more requests if we know

My process...as copied from another thread...



I use both Photoshop and After Effects to make animated sigs. All the fitting of the video clips and whatnot is done in AE. I'm sure there are other ways that don't require AE, but that is how I do them.

As for keeping the file size below the limit the big things I found that affect the file are:

-Dimensions of the sig (I usually do 400x90, with some exceptions)

-Length of the animation (Like I said I keep it close to 2 sec max)

-Amount of the sig the animation uses (the smaller the better, there are exceptions to this but that usually requires tweak colors and brightness of the clips. See the first one for Ermacs)

-How many different colors there are (Fewer different colors seem to keep the file size down more) (These bits can be tweaked a little in the Save for Web... box mentioned in the quote, but it mostly relies on how the sig looks)


Thats really about as well as I can explain it without doing some large step by step thing. I learned mostly through experimenting.

I've heard it's compression rate is much better than Photoshops and I'm really considering giving it a try.
