Agreed.
It's hard for me to take any of those chicks seriously. Not even Sonya.

They are totally ridiculous. But that's what Mortal Kombat is. There's no fighter I'd rather play while completely hammered than Mortal Kombat. Regardless, I still think the characters look great. Mileena, Kitana and Jade are all mad sexy.

I highly doubt NRS ever intended for anyone to take these characters "seriously".

They could, but that's clearly not the direction they wanna go in. You said it. They're clearly going out of their way to make the women in this game excessively revealing and voluptuous.
They're pretty much saying, "fuck you" to any form of moderation. Personally, I love it.

Nah, the less "normal" the better.
MK is shameless and it's all the better for it. Fuck modesty and fuck compromise. Gimme more blood, more ego and more tits.

Agree once again.
Even in a excess there should be a taste. Tasteless excess is like tea with too much sugar - it's so sweet, that you'll vomit.
It's the case with female outfits in the game - they're so badly designed, that they completely bland and stupid. If they want to go over the top - it's OK. But they should know better, when going over the top will turn the whole thing upside down. When excess becomes so ridicolous, that it'll become a laughing stock, instead of stylistic choice.

A great comparison for this are the character designs for Ivy, Voldo and Nightmare in Soul Calibur 5. These characters' designs have gotten more and more excessive with each game (Ivy is pretty much an MK chick in the wrong game), and yet you can see the careful thought that went into making their design look good in their excess.
Whereas the MK9 girls' costumes look like they were designed by a thirteen year old with half-decent art skills.

Great. All they need to do is hire designers with enough talent to do it right.

"A 13 year-old with half-decent art skills?"
Yea...whatever dude. Sounds like you're reaching far beyond your artistic experience.
Soul Calibur adopts a style much different than Mortal Kombat. They go overboard with elaborate costumes. Voldo and Ivy's costumes are as ridiculous as Mileena's, probably even more so, and they look no better for it. Their outfits look like a costume shop vomited on them.
Sometimes less is more. With Mortal Kombat characters, they had a goals in mind and they achieved them with simple and cohesive outfits. With characters like Ivy and Voldo, you get outfits that are completely overdone to the point where any character is lost in the flood of frivolous decorations.
Mileena's outfit is excessively revealing and provocative. Ivy and Voldo's outfits are just excessively overdone.

You sound really confused.
But whatever, you clearly really like these outfits. I think they're awful. Neither one of us is going to change the other person's mind.

Brilliant retort, dude.
...well it would be if you were trolling, but I'm a bit worried that you're actually serious.
The irony is actually quite delicious here. I'm assuming that you're quoting those two statements to imply that somehow they contradict each other? But you say I'm confused? Yikes.
Hit me up when you can actually come up with something worth responding to. As for now, you're at the lowest common denominator with your replies and that just ain't worth anymore of my time.

MK is and always will be very serious business.
However picked that model for jade fucked up badly.

In terms of designs both SC4 costumes and MK9 are ridicoulous. Though for different reasons - MK9 female designs are tasteless and primitive, some of SC4 designs are tasteless and overdone. Basically the same outcome, but achieved in different ways. However, Namoc took lesson from SC4. Will NRS take lesson from MK9 designs or not - only time will tell.

So NRS thinks their career and passion (including us fans) are all a big joke huh? Nothing about their characters were taken seriously. They're just blind folding their artists and playing pin the outfit on the character. That makes a whole boat load of sense.

You have a very rudimentary level of comprehension.
