The creatures flled and the woman came up to me. She told me her name was Jade. She also said that the creatures that ambushed us were tarkatans. I asked her why they would do such things but all she said is that all they want is to cause trouble. Jade continued to tell me that their leader was Baraka. From there I knew what I had. I must get revenge on Baraka and his savage Tarkatans. Those filthy mosters don't know who they are meeing with. I'll show them how it feels to get dismembered. I'll incinerate them one by one until all of them are gone for good!

Kraoch
I'm not going to go into too much detail because I am still fleshing out his origins and such, but basically I'd have this guy be a highly regarded general in a land that faced occupation from an invading threat. Kraoch is given the choice, however -- he can fight to the bitter death with this enemy, lose and have the people he is protecting destroyed; or he can surrender peacefully, and by bowing to this new power can ensure the survival of his people. He chooses to roll over, for what he tells himself is for the good of the majority.

This decision makes him unpoplular with many people, as he betrays his image of being an unbeatable, fearless leader. He feels that he did what he had to do. Not a purely evil character, he would serve the evil power in later games; to maintain the peace his people enjoy. His story arc will probably be about whether or not he decides to buck and fight to the bitter end, or about whether he does fall into the abyss of his decisions, and he does become a mindless lap-dog for the new main villain.

Appearance: I like the idea of Kraoch having quite a few scars and battle wounds -- I think this would distinguish him and give him a war-torn and tired look. White hair would seemingly suit this appearance. I'd maybe go with greyer skin than most characters in the MK universe. This could be to set his people apart, and could also reflect his stony attitude, and the ambiguity of his decisions. Basically think Marv from Sin City, I guess -- only with less of a noir styling and more of a warrior thing happening.

It may be a little silly to some, but I've always imagined this character picking up Shao Kahn's War Hammer in the Armageddon aftermath, and holding onto it as his new weapon of choice. Regardless of if Shao Kahn returns or not, give Kraoch the hammer, and either have Shao Kahn retired or back looking to regain his throne and seeking his weapon (which could be given a backstory). In addition to this, he could have a rivalry with some idealistic youth from his past looking for revenge against Kraoch because his hero sold out.

What makes this character unique:

* That he represents a philosophy not often seen in Mortal Kombat. Rather than fighting for his realm, or whatever, he essentially makes a business decision which he feels did right by his people, in that it kept them alive. He wouldn't so much be a villain as an anti-villain -- on the flipside to anti-hero -- a guy who may not neccessarily be evil, but is doing evil things because it conveniences him.

We all remember Raiden's friendship from MK2 where he brings out his son "Kid Thunder"... well, Surge is Kid Thunder all grown up and ready for battle. I originally visioned him coming out of hiding to face his father, since he was still "Dark Raiden" at the end of Armageddon. But now the story is that we have an "enlightened" Raiden in the past which actually makes the story better for Surge. I also wanted to have every color ninja in the game. I just love the MK ninjas. I have an idea for Tremor as well. Here is the bio for Surge...

Raiden is aware of the Armageddon that is coming in the next decade or so and begins taking matters much more seriously. His first course of action is to prepare his son. He hides him away in the shaolin monks temple for a few years to learn their ways. At times of peace, he trains under Kung Lao and Liu Kang. When Raiden feels he is ready, he takes Surge out and brings him to the Lin Kuei. Here, he will be taught to be a brutal and cunning warrior.

Appearance- Pale,looking like hes starved to the point that you can see his ribs. Long black hair that covers purple eyes, wears brown pants tied by rope,that are torn. Barefoot. wraps around one arm that have fabric falling off, a purple circle tatooed on his chest

Personality-Fun loving and carefree but irresponsible,laid back to the point that when he is fighting he doesnt look like he is putting any effort into it.

Gameplay- Effortless fighting style.
Special one-Spits out a poison fog, doesnt cover much distance but large area of effect, leaves opponent stunned.
Teleport- turns into locust either moving backwards, or if back to wall backwards and out other end of screen
special 3- blood rain,yawns as rain comes down at a angle landing in front of him effectively a fast acting wall, blood sizzles as it hits the ground
Special4- counter, the purple circle on his torso turns into a locust filled "portal" that the opponent's hand gets caught in,opponent then covered in locust that damages them as they shake them off
Special 5- command throw grabs the opponent by the face and smoke comes off were it burns

He would essentially be a defensive characters that would rely on his counter, as well as his other specials to keep him safe from attack.

Story: He was the Emperor of the Darkrealm, he attempts to destroy the all realms except Darkrealms, Death works with Darkar for 20 years, Death was Darkar's brother. The last tournament was a chaos, Darkar attacks all people in the arena with his minions, all fighters including Scorpion, Sub Zero, and Liu Kang killed some of Darkar's minions until Raiden blast a lightning at all minions and killed them. Then suddenly all fighters rushes toward Darkar and Darkar sweeps most fighters throughout the arena and knocks out few fighters out cold including Shang Tsung started bleeding and Quan Chi tries to help Shang Tsung, but he goes black. Shao Kahn attacks Darkar but Darkar has the advantage over Shao Kahn and Shao Kahn was unconscious, so Raiden attack Darkar and Darkar slash Raiden's upper body and then Darkar chokes Raiden and throw Raiden into a wall. And then Darkar blast a dark shaded fire that demolished the arena and Darkar said "You fighters are way too tough to beat, but you are not as tough than me!...Muhahahahahahahaha!" Then Darkar disappears into a Darkrealm.
