Original MK1 art - Goro and Scorpion for arcade cabinet
I really need your help here... I'm looking for the original art of MK1 for the side panels of my MK1 arcade.
I'm basically looking for a full body shoot (not cropped) of those pictures:
http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/1122/mk0117xt7.jpg
http://www.kamidogu.com/images/comics/mk01_00.jpg
My plan is to have a full body shot of Goro on one side and Scorpion on the other. It would be even better to have all the characters seperatly and make my custom collage to fit my arcade better.
Those are, in my opinion, the best oldschool mortal kombat art (to go with the arcade). Or very true to the original 3D images would be fine too.
Or even better, and I bet that's impossible to find, the original photos of the characters of MK1.
Anything will be appreciated,
Thanks in advance

Man... RichardDivizio.com had a beautiful hi-res photograph of a Goro cardboard cutout from MK1 that was just like that image you are asking about. I tried to go there but the site's not working. Also tried looking on eBay to see if the cutout was for sale. Can't seem to find this, but maybe someone around here's got it.

Hey ebo,
Any luck hearing back from Rich? If not, I scanned this in for you when I discovered one of the MKII magazines (the issue about Kitana, Liu Kang, and Kung Lao) laying around and I happened upon this sketch by John Tobias:
It's black & white and maybe not the best to use for your project, but I'm sure someone here on the forums could color it and cut it for you.

Bit of a tangent, but I don't think I've ever seen that lineart ]{0mbat just posted before. I wasn't aware that any rough concept art like that existed for the first game.
Y'know, looking at it reminds me how I hate that Goro's in-game model never has forehead spikes like Tobias always drew him with.
Especially since Sheeva DOES have the forehead spikes in the games.

Wow. It's a really good pose. I like it. But it would need colors. Could you try scanning it at a better resolution then that? If nobody here will color it then maybe I'll end up doing it but it'll be kind of cartoonish.
BTW, I never got a reply from rich... :(

Here is a crude version that I just figured out. Let me know what you think... I'm just not sure about the "Mortal Kombat"... I don't know how well it's gonna blend in with the marquee. Should I rotate it counter-clockwise a little bite? Should the dragon be replaced or resized? But for the drawing, that's pretty much good I think.

This is a bit late, but I found another shot of the famous John Tobias/Goro sketch that reveals a little bit more of the legs and stuff:
Came from the Tiger Barcodzz game.

Been going through the cutout stickie thread and came across Kintaro & Goro. If I find the specific thing you were looking for, I'll just post it here. I know for a fact I had everyone in that thread cutting out comic stuff for a week or so at one point a long time ago. It's bound to be around here somewhere...
Early Comic Kitaro
Early Comic Goro
Here's some other Goro's (cropped, I know), Grums..etc
Goro
Goro 2
Grum
Grum 2
Dunno if this will help but, I figure I mind as well give you everything. Page 47 of the Cutout Thread has a large Comic cutout list towards the bottom of the page. Look for my post. I'll keep an eye out for your specific Goro as well though.

It's lower res, but maybe this would work better:
Came from the MK Trilogy PC manual. I wonder why they changed his leggings from white to black?
