MORTAL KOMBAT: Cyrax 3

Cyrax's body twitched. His fingers clutched at the cool sand beneath him. The sound of fighting surrounded him. He heard a scream, followed by the sound of a body collapsing to the floor. Swiftly, the noise began to fade as Cyrax felt his body turning limp. Blackness crawled around his mind. He struggled to fight the darkness off before succumbing.

Like all other weary days, Outworld's purple atmosphere bled through Kahn's room. The black iron doors swung open with a rusting squeaky noise. Sektor and Cyrax stepped through and approached the Emperor.

Kahn looked over the robots from his throne as they bowed before him.

``Rise,'' Kahn ordered. Cyrax and Sektor stood, their postures completely erect.

``How may I serve you master?'' Both robots said simultaneously. Kahn leaned forward in his chair. His bulky finger pointed at Sektor. Kahn wagged his finger in. Sektor raised his head and ascended the three stairs that lay in front of Kahn. Cyrax remained still as Sektor paused before the Emperor. Kahn leaned closer to Sektor and began to whisper, his narrow, black pupils flickering towards Cyrax after every five words.

Anxiety and dread began to plague Cyrax. Had the Emperor discovered his position with the Earthrealm warriors? Impossible, Cyrax thought, Not even Kahn would be able to sense my deception. Unless....Cyrax's eyes flickered to Sektor as he descended down the steps. Sektor came to Cyrax's side.

No, Cyrax said in his head, No one followed me. Not even....

Kahn gave a small nod towards Sektor. The red robot lashed out, the heel of his foot driving into the back of Cyrax's knee. Cyrax buckled, surprise and pain bursting through him. Sektor stepped in front of him.

``FINISH HIM!'' Shao Kahn exclaimed as a portal opened behind Cyrax. Sektor's foot crashed into Cyrax's chest sending him into the portal. Sektor jumped, the portal closed as he entered.

Cyrax's body quivered on the sand as the memory faded. His eyes opened.
