MORTAL KOMBAT: Cyrax 2

The lightning that had consumed Cyrax disappeared leaving the battle wounded robot in its place. A jungle of trees stood sprouted ahead of him, the ocean water of the island licked the shore. A blonde woman and a man with metal arms stood before him; their backs turned. Cyrax stumbled forwards, his hand reaching out, before collapsing. The blonde woman turned to see the robot falling. She stretched forward, her arms hooked under Cyrax's armpits.

``Jax!'' The girl screamed as she struggled to keep herself and Cyrax from falling over.

``Sonya,'' Cyrax muttered as his vision began to dim. He felt Jax grip him from the back before falling into unconsciousness.

``Cyrax?'' Jax asked, his voice alert as he placed the robot on the sand. He inspected the blast marks and blood pouring out of Cyrax before turning to Sonya, ``What happened to him?''

``I don't know,'' Sonya replied. Her eyes furrowed together, ``But I plan to find out.''

Sonya brought her watch forward and pressed a button. Static buzzed on the screen. Sonya tapped another button on the gadget. A ninja's face appeared. He wore an orange mask with a matching vest along with a black tunic.

``Sonya,`` The ninja said, his voice low and frantic, ``This is not a good time!''

``Where are you?'' Sonya questioned her voice cold.

``You know where we are,'' Ermac replied.

``Where are you?'' Sonya repeated, anger growing in her voice. Ermac looked at her, puzzled.

``Shao Kahn's empire. Where you stationed us,'' Ermac answered.

``And Cyrax?'' Sonya asked. Guilt etched onto Ermac's eyes.

``We don't know,'' Ermac responded.

``Idiot,'' Sonya uttered at the ninja. She aimed her watch at Cyrax's still body.

``What is he doing there? Is he okay?'' Ermac asked. Sonya brought the watch back towards her.

``Why isn't he with you?''

``We...we....we don't know,'' Ermac said, ``The last time we saw him was in Kahn's throne room. He was with the other robot... Sektor.''

``What were they doing?'' Sonya asked.

``We don't know,'' Ermac answered. Jax approached behind Sonya and peered at the watched.

``Did they go anywhere?'' Jax asked.

``When we walked into the room, both were already gone. Kahn must've transported them somewhere because we didn't see either of them leave through the doors,'' Ermac replied. His eyebrows came together, ``How did Cyrax arrive with you?''

``He just appeared behind us,'' Sonya responded. A roar rang from Ermac's side of the screen.

``What was that?'' Both Sonya and Jax asked.

``Kahn,'' Ermac answered. He craned his neck backwards from the screen, ``Sektor's back.''

``Can you see him?'' Jax questioned.

``The robot's limping,'' Ermac reported, ``He's badly bruised.''

``They must've fought,'' Sonya said, looking at Cyrax.

``We will try to learn more but as of now neither of you can radio me. We will get to you when we get the chance. Are you somewhere safe?'' Ermac asked. Jax and Sonya nodded.

``Stay undetected for now. Kahn has been talking of plans for you and the rest of Earthrealm warriors,'' Ermac said.

``What type of plans?'' Jax questioned.

``Extermination squads. Large numbers of them,'' Ermac answered, ``I will contact you later.''

Ermac's screen blacked out before either Jax or Sonya could say something. Sonya let her hand fall to her side. She turned to Jax.

``What now?'' Sonya asked. Jax shrugged.

``You heard Ermac. Wait,'' Jax replied. He looked at the knocked out robot and walked towards him. This doesn't make any sense, Sonya thought to herself. She looked to the sky and closed her eyes, We need you Raiden.
