You know, I was worried about that, but being out of place is a part of her character as much as her design. She's a perfectly normal french woman(who enjoys fencing) struggling to survive on a very small income when the death of her closest friend reveals her hidden talents. These talents were passed on to her by an ancestor from Edenia, whose magical blood was diluted when he had a child with a human from Earthrealm. She is swept up in this strange world and her story reflects that she is in way over her head. Throughout the course of the story she is intended to grow into the Edenian she was meant to be, with her ending showing her finally gaining the strength to control her own destiny.

So, yes, she is out of place. That, I feel, is the entire point of her character. I wrote her story to be one that would grow and progress, not just a one shot character. In the future, she'll grow to be right at home in the MK universe, but until then she's still a stranger stuck in another world.
