First there are A LOT of steps involved. I'll just share some steps I took for Kintaro. You can see the original here http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y253/thw1138/8099cdba.jpg

I use photoshop CS2 and a pencil sketch I drew. I did all coloring in photoshop and created Scorpian & Reptile entirely in photoshop. I used the pen tool to trace Kintaro and make outines for Scorpian and Reptile.

For coloring Kintaro I used a circle brush head and an orange color for a base. For his body hair I created a separate layer, used a brush that kinda looks like a big eyelash and white for the color. In the brush features window I shrunk down the size, used scatter and told it to follow the direction of the mouse.That way the hairs follow the contours of his muscles. In the layer window, I seleced the white hair layer and set it to Soft Light. I made a new layer of black hairs the same way and also set it to soft light. The black adds more detail, more fine hair.

The fabric for the crotch flap; I filled in the belt and the flap with red on a new layer and left the layer on Normal. Then set the forground & background colors in the tool bar to black and white and created a new layer. I used the marquee tool to select a general area, then went to Filter-> Render and selected clouds. Then Filter->Sketch->Chrome. I erased extra around the flap and set the layer to Hard Light to let the red show through.

So that was pretty much Kintaro. I could go on and on if you really want to know more.

Yoiur photohop skills rock, the drawing could have used less bold lines...could you submit again with the lines colored over?

I love it! Especially since he's killing Scorpion makes it all better. The coloring is neat and smooth.

I don't mind the bold lines, without them the characters are much rougher and blobby which I don't like. Altering the outlines would take more effort than I'm willing to invest in a project I'm already satisfied with. But thank you for the suggestion.

I will say though, that he looks like he's crying badly, as if he suddenly regrets killing Reptile and Scorpion... oh well! 5/5

Nah, Kintaro doesn't care about anybody. I thought about having him spit out a fireball but never got around to it, that's why his eyes are closed. Maybe if I had his eyes open he might look more fierce. Thanks for your comments!
