I dunno, the Hugh Jackman or Mel Gibson Road Warrior look of his face and hair don't really do it for me. I've always thought Divisio-based Kanos look best, balding, sleazy looking, that says "crime boss" to me.

Yea, first thing I thought of was X-Men Origins: Wolverine when I saw this one.
He looks pretty casual, not dark or gritty enough for me. Great artwork as always, though.

I though the Divisio Kanos were the fardest from looking like the Earthrealm thug Kano is supposed to be. Tobias' original artwork as seen in the Mortal Kombat comic looked nothing like the actor in game, and the MK3 kano looked like some superhero. Personaly my favorite look for Kano was in MKvsDC except he looked a bit too clean. This is a scruffy version of that Kano.

Well...I guess I'm thinking more of the artwork you just brought up, not so much Divisio himself. But like...the Kano in the comic and in Deadly Alliance and in Shaolin Monks, I like that look to his face and hair. I wasn't a big fan of the sudden, movie-inspired change to his appearance in MKvsDCU.
I dunno, to me, it's like...he's the leader of the Black Dragons, a mob boss, not a random grunt. I just think the slicked back, receding hairline style implies more age and experience as a criminal and gives him more character, I guess. It makes him look more like the villain in a 70's/80's crime movie or TV show like Miami VIce or something. That's the sort of guy I've always imagined Kano to be. Yours seems too...handsome. That's just me, though.

I really like this.
Kano has always been a character I like, but noever up there in my favourites list.
I definitely think his MKDA and MKvDC designs have been the best, and you seem to have gone along those lines with this look. I like the somewhat 'casual' attire of thsoe costumes, and this is what you have given him here too, and I like the colour scheme too.
Only thing Im a bit iffy on is the hair, it somehow doesnt sit right with me.
BUt over all, excellent as always!

I think, like a lot of MK characters, the concept of the character and the design have worked at odds. Like you, I quite liked the practicality of the MKSF/MKvsDC design, but I think it's always important to remember the stature Kano is supposed to have held within the international Black Dragon criminal clan. You've definitely captured his physical capability, but I think it's always important to make sure he doesn't look like a grunt. That might be his leaning tendency, but he has to make sense in other situations.
Overall, I think it's a nice effort.
If that jacket was a bit more urban, I'd see a bit of thosee MK1 Bladerunner style shots in there. Hehe.

1st: It's aout damn time I saw some Kano artwork.
2nd:
I'm not sure about the longish hair.
I also feel like you made him way to buff, which is weird, but it's just kinda what it looks like. Clothes are fine, the whole "as long as it looks badass, I can put Kano in anything" still applies here.
a few things here and there, but mostly the face is what I don't like.
All these problems ar MK relted, if this were your own character, it would look great, but since you are drawing from source material (in terms of Kano and his character" I'd say
8/10
which is a solid B
