i like it, but i don't like the way Jax's face looks. i really don't know how to explain it, but everything else looks okay.

This is a great drawing for sure, but personally I dont like the way you made Jax look. I dont know If you made him to skinnny or you did something to his face, I just cant put my finger on it. I just dont like how he looks.

While this is technically good, it just isn't....Jax. It doesn't look anything like any of the iterations of the character. I mean, this guy looks like a mechanic or a lightweight boxer or something (not counting the Cyclon arms) not the heavyweight fighter that Jax (and, granted, the rest of the MK cast) usually is.

You still owe me a character drawing you promised. If you want to live up on that, now is the time to preplan it.

o.k. lets see what we have today in fan submission. Whats this? Jax? I can say your good if you did draw that, but you made Jax look lightweight and frail.


I'll give you the 4/5, because its after all, good art. It would have been a perfect score, but that Jax looks strange the way I'm seeing him.

Pretty nice drawing, I like it. The only thing I can point out like others have noted is that he is kinda skinny looking. I think you should try to make his metal arms bigger. Great job though.

You should make him a little buffer, give him the MK2-3 mustache and it'll be a perfect 5/5, but for now, 4.5/5. Great job.

Yea, this one has some disturbances...but it is techniclly correct.

1. The Flag is what I see giving him that "boxer" look the most out of anything. Something less..mmm..cliche? would've warded that off more than changing his build.

2. The arms are fine, but they resemble that Mk4 look too much for my taste. Like a pleasant upgrade to what they did with Jax back then. The red accents on the arms are delightful however. I do like that the most about the arms.

3. I think facial may have made him look older...which, would probably been "better" considering how long he's been in the game.

Overall it's "perfect"....but not "prefered". Like an up-graded Mk4 Jax. 4/5

As most of you have noted, yes, Jax has lost some bulk in this pic. Ultimately, I guess I just wanted him to look a bit more "real" and less "gamey".

Loosing the 'stache was just a personal thing.

I think it looks flawless. You are amongst an elite group of members of this board that I feel should be official Midway character designers. Jax was always one of my favorite characters, but his MKDA-Armageddon design faltered my opinion of him. Your version takes him back to his roots.

5/5. Extremely well-done. You are a very talented artist. I much prefer this take on Jax to his current incarnation - this one's more reminiscent of Jax from MK2-MK4, but is more detailed, and his cybernetic arms come across as more realistic. I like how you toned down his ridiculous body size.
For those of you who say he looks frail, take into account he has those cybernetic arms, and that overall muscular bulk doesn't necessarily mean superiority. Bruce Lee wasn't particularly bulky, after all.

There's something about his waist that's bothering me. Probably just the simple fact that it has no real definition. It's a little bland. Maybe if he at least had some stomach definition it would've been a bit better. That's just a minor complaint though.
I'm glad somebody aside me enjoys the sleeker look of Jax's cybernetic arms. His whole look in MKDA and MKA was wrong. Those arms did nothing, and really, couldn't function in a real fight. Not effectively anyway. The new design looks more natural and what I'd think of as some kind of strength enhancement.

Do you Actualy DRAW these things, because I have never seen anything like the things you do.

I dont mind the changes you made, I myself like the arms and the Regulation Tonfa, Id prefer a silver or chrome tonfa myself.

The flag behind him makes my eyes wander away from JAX which Is a bit anoying because I look at all the detail you put into it, just part of me wants to look behind him lol.

I love the hair and the buzz around it. It's very nice.
And the flag is just amazing. The arms seem more realistic. So I like those a lot. Shades over the eyes could work. But whatever floats your boat.
